I already submitted a ticket, as I can reproduce this glitch 100% of the time on a completely fresh game install, but I figured I’d throw it to the forums to see if anyone else has been unfortunate enough to experience this.
In the campaign level The Maw, after the cutscene where Cortana and Chief are attacked by sentinels, the audio playing from before the cutscene doesn’t cease, and overlaps the rest of the entire level, regardless of what is transpiring on screen. This unfortunately ruins many parts of the rest of the level since the music seems inappropriate for the on-screen action. Not only that, but when multiple music tracks overlap, especially in the final cutscene, it’s downright painful on the ears ha!
The only way I’ve found to avoid this glitch is to wipe out every enemy leading up to the cutscene trigger, especially the elites/grunts/hunters that spawn in what would’ve been the mess hall (I think) from Pillar of Autumn. Sometimes I just want to run through though!
I thought this was fixed, but I’ve been on a campaign kick on MCC lately and this issue reared its head with ugly abandon! I know it’s probably not on the top of the priority list for the collection, but with the work already done on Halo CE, it’s a shame that this still exists as one of the last big blemishes on the conclusion of my favorite Halo.
Maybe some post support MTX to fix this issue is on the horizon ha-
