Isn’t VTOL the other name for the Phaeton?

No. The Hornet, Falcon, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Vampire, Vulture, and Phaeton are all halo VTOLs. VTOL stands for Vertical Take Off and Landing.

Don’t get your hopes up. 343 is known for disappointing and making people mad. Playable elites and false falcon hype because of the ONI cover are a couple examples.

Yeh
The descriptions on stuff means absolutely nothing in terms of what you can do in game. It’s just background lore filler content.
Others have said it, I will too, don’t get your hopes up. I was sorta hoping for race mode and a few more hogs than one new and three tweaked ones, but hey they’re free updates and 343i really doesn’t owe us anything. At least WZ firefight comes out next time.

I’m pretty sure none of descriptions of those sets mention specific vehicles. Why would they make an entirely new vehicle just for the description of an armour set? Plus, 343 already confirmed that a UNSC air vehicle would be added to the game.

Not really. In the description it literally says that it’s created for the Type-49 Attack VTOL, and we already know that human air vehicles are returning at some point. It’s not THAT far-fetched to imagine that it’s a hint to the future.
That being said, it could be anything from a new model of the Hornet to something completely new.
The descriptions don’t mean much, they are just little bits of background. Don’t get your hopes up for this update. But, they have said they are working/hoping to bring in a UNSC air vehicle, so maybe it will be here for the Warzone FF
I suggest not reading anything in to it. It’s always better to be pleasantly surprised.

the needler warthog idea has been around for quite some time as well. so yeah the possibility is there
343 aren’t going to add any completely new vehicle models to the game. They’ve made it quite clear that reqs ands updates are built off existing models and content in the game. Which makes sense to be honest.

You’re not the first to speculate this, I’ve seen a couple other threads about the stinger talking about some kind of vehicle.

What about the Gravity Hammer? Halo 2 BR? Brute Plasma Rifle? Those are all new weapons that aren’t built off of existing models. If they can do it for weapons, they can do it for vehicles too.
