Got the ecto visr today and after reading the description I noticed a teensy reference to the alien movies.
The description reads: the pattern matching subsystem of the ecto visr can be set to look for specific hyperspectral and multi modal sensory traces, a useful function when tracking stealthy xenomorphs and transient electronic whispers.
And I thought halo was done with aliens references

Lol i understood the xenomorph reference in the visor, but i did not understand the “transient electronic whispers” part, so i googled it and it brought me here xD
Uh, guys, that’s not really an Alien reference. Xenomorph is a real word, and could be used to describe any unidentified extraterrestrial life form. It’s just used in Alien because the creatures don’t yet have an official name. The Ecto visor is just used for tracking stealthy aliens while on research missions. Its not technically an Easter egg.

If you want to get in on the Aliens references, play Halo: CE and watch Aliens. From the Bill Paxton character, Sarge, the dropship, even the dropship pilot saying “We’re in for some chop” (can’t remember if this was a scene title or an achievement in Halo 3)…tons of references.
