Anyone else need vacation from Infinite?

to practice without your rank on the line.

Ranks do not go down in Infinite, I had some rough patches and did not de-rank, the system is extremely forgiving. The only difference between ranked and social is that you can see this little emblem when you research someone, it’s not even next to your name anymore. It’s absolutely pointless.

No, it only took me a very short time to realize how poorly this game was designed, that majorly lacks incentive to even want to play. I mean, most are complaining about petty nonsense but are ignoring how broken this game actually is.

No, you certainly de rank man.
What exactly are you guys asking for? unbalanced games?
How is that fair for the other team?
I thoroughly believe that SBMM should match with priority of connection and then skill…I am not arguing against that.
However, how exactly do you achieve what you want?
How do you get relaxed matches were we compete but you somehow don’t have to try as hard?
I have yet to have someone be able to describe it.

We are playing a game with delays on top of delays.
4v4 with rocket launchers in it
4v4 with vehicles that have explosive weapons on them
maps with bottomless pits for zero reason what so ever…so
Do you want all that to change?
Because by nature that is a “sweatfest”
I can fall into an infinite hole by taking a wrong step.
We couldn’t run for literally years due to the community not wanting people to be able to escape.
Delays in switching weapons
delays in throwing grenades
etc
As long as these things are in the game it is and always has been a sweat fest.
so, how do you achieve what you guys say you want?

Once daily experience dies down and I start to struggle with challenges (seriously f this system) I take breaks until the next day.

It’s just general frustrations with multiplayer with hackers, terrible sbmm, and sweaty players. Like bro, it’s team deathmatch, calm down. You’re not in a tournament what the hell? It’s also why I don’t want to get on mic with people. When you’re complaining how much the team sucks and I’m not doing all that much better than you, it’s just a bad team. Please do not scream in the mic.

So yeah, breaks are necessary for me.

Again: loosen the SBMM. That way you won’t know what you get. You could have a sweaty game, you could just crap all over the enemy team, you could get your butt beat like a drum and everything inbetween- it would be exciting and unpredictable.

Right now I know that I will have to sweat, then eventually come a cross a stack and get wrecked, then I get paired with people who have never played Halo before. In that order in an infinite loop. It’s exhausting. I want interesting games with people from all sorts of different skill levels.

what does that mean though?
loosen it how?
How does that not end up with really good players finding bad ones?
Why wouldn’t it pair us with the best possible matches connection wise and skill wise?
What else is there?
You guys are asking for something you don’t understand.
That is a broken system so you can not have to try as hard.

I understand the system very much, that is what bothers me. It’s painfully predictable, you can predict what kind of match you will get with pretty good accuracy. When I play normally I will get the same type of ultra-competitive matches. Eventually, the MLG gank-squad comes along that wrecks my random team, and at this point, I can tell for pretty certain that not long after I get put in a noob-lobby. The SBMM is constantly adjusting to your perceived performance. Loosen SBMM means to get rid of this and purely connect people based on connection, not how you did in the previous 3 games. I have around 130 h in, it’s pretty obvious how the system works.

Pros like Mintblitz complain that his friends don’t want to play with him cause he is always paired with HCS pros huffing GFuel which is just miserable. The system is super strict. Look around Waypoint, plenty of people had enough of the game becoming a second job. We aren’t even asking for anything to be taken away from super competitive player types. These people always have home in ranked. Just let social be social.

I’ve found social to be a lot easier than ranked, but I’m not a fan of social. My rest and relaxation comes from BTB so as that isn’t working I have taken a decent break from the game and started playing Hitman instead.

I’m very bad at Hitman so I’ve been spending a very long time to do very little.

Fixed that one for ya.

It is a beautifully crafted game. I hated it when I was younger but didn’t really get it. Hitman 3 has been a blast. I’ve finished the levels but still have 2 to fully explore.

Then I’ve also got 1 and 2 access pack in the sale this week, what a treat. Sorry to derail the topic, but did the old games have much going on or are they more basic in structure due to the limitations of the console?

I only ask as I have a copy of Hitman Absolution at my parents house that I may collect after I finish 1-3. I bought it based on a friend’s recommendation and never played it.

The game doesn’t owe you a K:D above 1. Or a W/L above 50%.

I’m still a little confused about what you want from the game.

What do you see as your ‘chill’ K:D and/or W/L ratio?

You do realise that if you are having a ‘good time’ then the people on the opposite team are probably running to this very forum complaining they just came up against a bunch of sweat laden HCS try-hards.

It’s all relative.

When my mates and I go into Social we have fun by trying new weapons, going for splatters, experimenting with equipment. The result, and our K:D, is a secondary concern. If the game is close towards the end you tend to take it a bit more seriously of course… but if you are a way in front or behind that is the time for shennanigans.

Feel free to try that 1 billion and 1st time.

It’s very easy to show that ‘random’ is a chill fest for those in the top 5% - and the complete opposite for those on the other side of the curve. I even have a simulation up and running that picks random numbers from a normal distribution if you’d like.

Everyone wants to relax.

Most people do it by having fun. Trying new / silly things in a game. Happy that the result could go either way.

Some people just want to do it by smashing lower ranked players all day long.

I’m not sure what the answer is.

If I was mates with Pete Sampras I wouldn’t expect to play tennis with him. And if I did I couldn’t complain if one of his ATP buddies decided to use me as target practice for his serving.

I don’t know who is more miserable in this circumstance Mint Blitz’s buddies being creamed by the opposition’s pro player… or the opposition’s lower ranked players being creamed by Mint. And it’s probably the latter as their humilation is probably being streamed for the world to see.

The only winner is Mint Blitz.

I have explained in length already what I want from the game, please use the scroll function the website provides. I am literally asking for what was the norm before SBMM started plaguing the industry.

You also do not seem to understand what the problem is in the first place when you think my KD is my first concern. It is simply meant to be a measurement to make everyone understand quickly what I am talking about. The more I read your response the more I get the feeling that you are entirely missing the point in which case please scroll up again and refer to my previous posts.

Who the heck is mintblitz? Ive been following compeitive Halo for well over a decade including every Infinite tourney and never heard of him

OP it’s a game. If you feel like it feels like a job, stop playing immediately.

Games are supposed to be fun.
