Anyone else miss the bubble shield?

While I don’t know how effective it was in the MLG scene I really liked it in the games it was in.

A protective shield that surrounded you against all attacks as long as you stayed in for short time was nice (Reach’s health restoration was a bit much) and the sound effect was awesome.

This and the Plasma rifle are things I wish were still around but I can accept their absence.

Nothing was worse than shooting a rocket at someone only for them to drop a stupid bubble and block it. I hated the bubble shield and pretty much all of Halo 3’s equipment. I hope to never see it again.

I dont hate it, but I don’t miss it either. It kinda felt like it slowed down gameplay. I mean, I loved saving my skin with it, but like Armor lock and hardlight shield, it was frustrating to go against.

Hated bubble shields the most. If I’m playing halo, one of the last words I should ever have to use is “bubble”.

It was the precursor of Armor Lock… let’s just leave it at that.

I think I can appreciate the novelty and some of the design philosophy around the equipment, being a pick up. But I don’t think I’ll ever truly miss equipment in normal Halo play. Including the bubble shield.

Really people, it wasn’t that hard to go against.

Lol bubble shield was a great pickup. And very easy to overcome. Not sure why people say they hate it; didn’t really make much of a difference to gameplay, other than that once in a while, someone would use it. Either for your aid, or against you.

It also wasn’t that hard to use. Making it overpowered. If I’m killing you and you’ve got a shotgun and throw up your bubble, I’m not going in there. So you just saved your team from the enemy getting a point. That’s basically like a power weapon but in reverse.

At least power weapons took some skill to use.

I loved using in Invasion. Gives us something to defend ourselves against the Super Banshee

Imagine if it was in H4, Allowing you to sprint with a bubble shield armour ability would of been on everyone in BTB

um, no, it slowed gameplay down tremendously, glad its gone

actually yea, i miss it a little, always a good way to push for a flag, return a flag, plant a bomb, troll snipers… it was just amusing
