Finally a plasma rifle that is not garbage, its got some power now! I love how fast it takes shields down for that beatdown!
I do quite enjoy picking it up, like you said kills the shields quick for a finisher. Find myself picking it up in replace of assault rifle.
It’s really good. In close range it will tear through ARs and pistols.
It’s a very underestimated tool of destruction. I pick it up whenever I can.

I agree here, at first I was like how is this over heating already but after the amount of power it has if used properly it is fair play. Shoot in bursts is bestfriend 
This gun is great. On its own it is only slightly better then the starting ar. But using it to drop shield then switching to the ar will kill faster then using either on the own. And it great for running people down. And will allow you to have have 3 clip because is has cool down instead of reload. Running in pairs with one player using the storm and the other using ar will drop people insanely fast.
This thread has summed up why people like me are uncomfortable with Halo 5…
Storm rifle is a awesome 1v1 tool, I’m loving it. Originally thought it was going to be awful to grind up that commendation. Thankfully it wasn’t like H4 Storm Rifle or H3 Plasma Rifle. For once I can enjoy all factions having unique arsenals that feature actually useful guns.

Two bursts and a beat down or two long bursts and a overheat, or a burst and a pistol shot. I like how usable it finally is.
Its actually useable now, same with the suppressor. But the overheat on it has gotten me killed a few times…its tricky to master.

Why? Because guns that used to be useless are now actually good? I swear, you old purists want everything to be like the old halos with only a couple good weapons that everyone uses.
Its like a spray and pray version of the noob combo from Halo 2. Well, maybe not quite as effective as the H2 noob combo, but it has a similar function and quality. Spray, swap, headshot.

It’s a beast! You’re in trouble if you don’t finish the kill and back up arrives cause that overheat will get you killed lol
I’m loving all the the weapons because they’re all useful. Finally.
