Anyone else losing interest?

The reason I lost interest is pretty much the ranking system. There is no incentive/drive once you are placed in a tier. For me I know I probably will never hit champion, so after hitting onyx with no chance of falling out of that tier I asked myself now what?
There is no constant battle for your rank anymore, ranks don’t feel rewarding like they did in h2/h3. In arena I’m forced to using the pocket dmr 90% of the time when I just want to use any kind of rifle when I spawn.

Does anyone feel the same way?

I don’t personally

I could play hundreds of hours just trying to get all of the unlockable skins, armors, armor mods, variants, animationsn stances etc…

Then this new update added 40 more so there’s many more hours added just in the first update…

I could play this forever it seems and still have interest

So…Pick up a rifle?

I’ve checked in to see what my req packs have, but other than that I’ve bee playing Smite or Fallout 4. Halo 5 just doesn’t hold my interest, but I haven’t played BTB yet so there’s that.

Just everyway possible, 343i imo has screwed up Halo making it TOO competitive in Halo 5. Lowered aim assist, etc etc. You dont need to redice these things in order to make the game play competitively. Its just going to make people upset and not enjpy it because you catered to one side of the coin. They dont care and never will. When Reach hits, Im throwing Halo 5 away and going back to a older, yet better Halo.

If the gaming mechanics were not screwed from the start then possibly, I might have enjoyed the game but there are more wrong with this game than there are positive. Why they brought in a “pro” team to tell them how the aiming mechanics and other crap works is something I will never know, its like 343 cant make a proper game without the help of others.

So no different than Destiny (Play 100s of hours to get that weapon that you need to beat this Raid, but wait there is more. For another couple hundred hours you can get high enough to do the Raid on Hard for even better armor and weapons, but wait there is more. For $80/year we will keep duplicating this repetitive experience over and over until you literally waste your entire life doing nothing fun for 99.9% of the time while you hope for that pinch of luck.)

Halo Reach had a better way of obtaining customization, actually buying it directly from the points you earned from games rather than luck from a pack.

Nope, the first few weeks I was doing mostly campaign (Legendary, Intel, Skulls), and Arena. Lately with the collection of awesome req rewards I’ve collected I decided to mess around in Warzone, and I’m having an absolute blast.

Halo 5 brought back the Halo hype for me, and I know I’ll be addicted to this game for a LOOOONG time!

So…Like how the largest and longest running MMO has been doing things?

You will fall out of that tier when the season ends. That’s how they’ve chosen to make the battle for your rank a “constant” thing.

If these ranks don’t feel rewarding to you then don’t blame the system. H5’s Platinum 3 or H3’s 38 - there is absolutely no difference in being bored and feeling “locked” in one system and being bored and feeling “locked” in the other. If, on the other hand, what you are really trying to say is that the older system was more susceptible to manipulation than the new system, and hence provided longer-term entertainment… well, that is true. But it also reveals the true and higher value of the new system. Sorry it’s less exploitable. Maybe now you can concentrate on playing the game instead of playing the ranking system.

I like the game don’t get me wrong I enjoy the competitive side of things I just don’t like the ranking system. It doesn’t keep my interest making me want to play everyday like I used to.

Yeah the old ranking system had some flaws but the up and down was fun (to me anyway). I’ve placed in diamond in everything except breakout and dubs which I placed platinum. Also waiting a month for a new placement is not really what I consider fun. I’ll accept I’m a diamond/onyx player.

I think its a solid system, it makes it easier to come back after a break from the game.

If I can’t play for a few days, or a week after being away from the game; I don’t have to grind my way back up to a decent rank to play with players at my skill level. Or if I’m getting bored of SWAT and don’t play it for a while, the same applies.

At this point I think people are just trying REALLY hard to find little things in the game they don’t like, so they can make them out to be giant issues.

This game is amazing.

Raises hand

The e-sports-super competitive-MLG-tryhard infested multiplayer gets old pretty quickly. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to do for a moderately competitive/casual player like myself aside from playing on the same three maps on Warzone over and over again. There’s also nothing to really work for aside from getting lolREQ packs, which isn’t appealing to someone like me who couldn’t care less about micro transaction RNG-packs.

And with Forge MIA and custom games butchered, it’s easy to move on to other games.

I wouldn’t know. If you are an expert please explain.

No. Done. Now no more of these threads there are too many of them.

as someone else has stated starting next month your rank will reset so you have to work back up to whatever rank every month. sounds like it will keep my interest. espically because rewards will be linked to your rank. games only been out a month. never realized how truly ADD gamers were untill i started checking forums

people actually enjoy things like RNG because it makes games last longer, is it annoying when you don’t get what you want right away? of course it is! but it makes it that much better when it actually does drop for you!. i would hate to work for exactly what i want, and then never touch anything else in the game. because that in turn makes the games life span shorter. wouldn’t call myself an expert… but Rng is a good system because it more or less (depending on how the system works) makes you use things you thought you might not have liked and ended up enjoying. halo’s Rng system works alot better then destiny’s so it feels like less of a second life so i don’t mind it at all!. it’s like subsribing to loot crate. you know the theme, (armor, weapons, skins, etc etc) but you don’t know exactly what you will get. people still enjoy the element of surprise you know

I didn’t know ADD gamers were the cause of lack of content. Who knew?

I’m likely just going to trade Halo 5 in once I nab enough achievements and complete my painful Legendary run. It is a fun game but there isn’t enough content to keep me around like the older games had.

The MCC is where it’s at.
