anyone else like Chief to be the Villain?

I would love to play as both the chief and the new Spartan, with Chief been a Villain killing UNSC soldiers and the new Spartan (maybe Marlowe) been the Hero of the game and trying to stop chief, I think this would be a really interesting spin, although I’m not really certain that it matches Chiefs personality and I can imagine not a lot of other people would like it, what do you guys think?

I don’t think it would be beneficial to the story, and I think it would be offensive to many fans. I voted no.

So a Spartan who has saved humanity and has served his entire life as a soldier just decides to start killing marines after his AI unit dies. That doesn’t sound that compelling of a story. Leave the Marine killing to us when we play as chief, don’t make it cannon…

I have a feeling that you will play as both the Chief and this mystery Spartan much like in Halo 2. And also like in H2 they will pit you against each other, but you will eventually come to terms to battle the real threat.

Hell no. Chief has always been the Hero. I, Like many other fans, Refuse to see him as anything else.

Chief would never turn his back on his own kind. It’s completely illogical as to why he would. What, Because Cortana’s dead? How is that Humanities fault?

I do think Chief will become more of a free thinker. But not to the point where he will become a villain. Because that’s not what he is. And honestly, If Chief is going to become a Villain/Antagonist, Then I’m automatically sickened by Halo 5’s story.

Chief has been programmed his entire life to fight for the UNSC and humanity. Not only would it take something pretty -Yoinking!- huge to cause him to start killing UNSC forces (something a little bigger than getting replaced, I’d say), most fans would hate it. Not a smart move.

Does a highly respected Forerunneer warrior who did his best to save his people turning insane due to the highly corruptible nature of the Flood that causes him to violate the principles he holds dear not sound compelling either? I don’t think Chief will turn straight villain, but to see him in a light that makes him more dangerous to humanity than helpful would interesting.

Chief has always been THE hero. That would just be stupid if suddenly he started doing that.

I can see this happening where maybe ONI is trying to eliminate master chief with the use of this new spartan. But I only see Master Chief doing this out of absolute self defense.

I don’t think he could ever be a true antagonist. He may be antagonistic to some factions, but in his own way he will still be a protagonist. He will have a noble goal and will achieve it by whatever means it takes. He’s our greatest warrior. He couldn’t do any less.

Everybody is the hero of their own story. For the longest time the Covenant viewed humanity as the villian.

Why would Chief be a villian after saving Humanity like 3 times?! It just wouldn’t make sense for him to do that, and for that reason I’ve voted no.

A Master Chief that becomes a loose canon and stops taking orders I can live with, but MC isn’t destine to become a villain.

I kinda think it may make some sense, bare with me. I don’t think Chief’s gonna fight the UNSC just for no reason, that I agree would be stupid but I do think he’s going to do everything he can to get Cortana back and for that he’s going to need an expert on AI’s and Halsey is currently with the Storm Covenant. If it comes down to a choice between the UNSC and Cortana I know which one id bet on.

villian is usually just a point of perspective,

if we play as the oni agent then chief will seem evil, we’d only be told he’s gone rouge and disappeared in possession of military hardware, anyone sent after him has been killed bla bla he’s evil

played as MC we’ve gone rouge in-search of cortana a lost friend an asset we couldnt have beat the covenant with someone we owe our lives to. the unsc wouldnt let us go so we went our own way, we’ve defended ourself from people sent to return/kill us using deadly force and now a hunter oni agent is onto us trying to stop us

in all honesty i wouldnt want to see MC as a villan, id be fine playing abit against him if it shows another side of the story but playing the full game against him i dont think would be enjoyable

That just reminds me of when Anakin says, “From my point of view the Jedi are evil.”

Thanks for the reply s guys! had a feeling the votes would work out this way XD

Nope, never. Wouldn’t buy the game. Nuff said.
