Anyone else kinda burnt out?

I really don’t know how to explain the feeling, I am not saying this in that I don’t like Halo 5, its a fun game and I spent tons of time playing it, but… I guess its just getting a little boring, I don’t know if I just played to much or after reaching goal had no more determination. The game is still fun at times, but its not the go to game at the moment, the lack of friends who play may be part of it, but I feel like it all comes back to the amount of content and the effort put in to certain parts. I am not bashing 343 for making the stuff they did, moving things to a new engine can take time and not everything will be available, but things like BTB or infection just don’t feel right at all.

Halo just doesn’t have any compelling updates I guess, I mean sure we just got anvils legacy, but it was basically just some REQs. I know its no longer part of the main update plan, but I feel as if 343 limited themselves by putting themselves on this one per month plan. More stuff could have been added I believe, more then just a map and some reskins of existing weapons. maybe some more modes, story content, something other then REQs.

I kinda feel like REQs have caused a burn out in me, they really aren’t the reason In play Halo like many, but they are shoved into the spotlight, over taking everything else. Just look at month of mythic. The REQs took up more then half of most updates, sure they are fun to play with in forge or custom games. But I don’t believe they can old people for that long before burning out.

Maybe I just need to play something else for a bit and come back, its almost been month now since I last played, been doing Destiny, waiting for Titanfall 2 and Halo Wars 2. Maybe something will come, most likely not, but I don’t think 343 should use this model for Halo 6.

Halo 5 dies quickly with the lack of game modes and the pointless REQ system. I get why RES’s are a thing but the fact that armor and emblems are locked away in them is upsetting.

I feel like to much focus is put on the REQ system, undermining everything else, the things that actually make the game live longer, I am not going to lie, I liked Halo 4, but it was because it had a ton of different modes to play and a really fun and fleshed out BTB. Same with Reach, though I was better at 4.

Whenever I get that feeling, I play Team Arena. Putting effort into winning usually gets me right back into the game and I get that “one more match” syndrome.

No goal to set, no offline support, and not much variety in the game. Original Halo games’ simplicity is what makes the game addicting even today. Halo 5 does not have that addicting gameplay and I have no incentive to play this game anymore. I dropped it months ago, but I decided to play it again. I noticed that since the updates, this game got more bugs and glitches. Systems are still frustrating. I have no incentive to play this game anymore. I can’t keep myself playing this game with joy.

Halo 4 was better than Halo 5 in game modes. Game play in H5 isn’t terrible but it also isn’t the best. Sprinting is all Halo ever needed, not these insane abilities that came from no where.

I still enjoy playing and being a consistent player. Wish I had more time to play.

Actually, I think having a goal may be one of the issues, I have a strong love for the ODST helmet, and worked my butt off to get Helljumper, and then indomitable to look like my reach spartan, after getting both, the urge to play kinda died a little as my main goal was done.

Glitches and random server issues do not help, I agree, its something that has bugged me to no end, the updates really don’t add much, but again, I feel its more of the schedule that caused that and not 343 being lazy, making something every month to be released that month can be hard at times.

I actually think clamber and thrust should stay, truly, I could care less if sprint is there or not, but those two abilities I think really add.

Now and again, I’ll drop the game to play others. Then, I’ll get the hankering for Forge and jump on for that. That will make me wanna play a couple games to wind down and get my creativity going again. Then after some more Forging, I’ll think “Man, Arena sure was fun.” so I’ll play that even more. Before I know it, I’ve completely picked Halo 5 back up.

That bloody Forge mode…

I do feel burned out on the multiplayer, but I’ve been really invested in forge lately and Halo 5 sucked me back in.

To be fair… you put over 10 days into the multiplayer. That’s incredible. Multiplayer game devs dream of people playing their games that much. So don’t feel guilty for getting burnt out, or comb the game for faults looking for a reason that you feel this way. You’ve clearly had a great time with it, so go check out other games. There’s tons of great stuff out right now and coming soon. And when you’ve had your fill, come on back

Isn’t it depressing seeing people saying your game is boring despite the record that shows they put a lot of time?

Probably not to much for Drell. He only started in August so he’s fresh meat for the arena of waypoint.

You mean he became employee of 343 Industries in August?

I come online to play with others thru LFG and my company to get to max rank. Otherwise i find it a game which lacks depth in maps especially warzone considering my no. Of hours invested. 6 maps feels dry when solo queueing
