an in progress game that is halfway over? I quit every single time before it even spawns me. Sometimes it takes like 5 tries to get a game because they just constantly put you into games with your team 10 kills from losing.
In the time it took you to quit out of your games and keep trying to find a new fresh game you could have wrapped up the in-progress game and started a fresh new game there.
I don’t quit games except for lag.
I feel like I’m cherrypicking for inferior players to boost stats if I do that.

If the games nearly over I quit, regardless of what team it puts me on. If it’s just started it doesn’t bother me, but I do like to play a whole match, not the last 30 seconds of one.
Though I’ve only been put into nearly finished games a few times. JIP seems to be okay so far.
No, I stick with it and help my team come back and win it. Nothing feels better than joining a game a turning the tide of the battle and pulling out an unexpected win.
I’ll stick with it, as I don’t care about stats. That is, unless there were openings because the opposing team is absurdly above my skills. No fun in that, for me, at least. If the matches weren’t so one sided, I’d play every game (I’m not a good player, for the most part).
What I do is press the XBOX button and sign out, that way 343 can’t count it as a quit 
Why quit? Why not just stay in the short game for the free XP?
