Fixes the X&Y Axis? I’m not sure if this has been brought up yet, but there shouldn’t be a reason for my X sensitivity to be different than my Y sensitivity. Hopefully they’re aware of this and are working on a patch.
The whole aiming mechanic is screwed up.
I remember reading that it was about aim acceleration and deadzones. I never played the beta but I heard aiming was much more fluid in it. I appreciate 343 decreasing aim assist and increasing the skill gap but this function appears to be the problem (aiming does feel quite clunky). All in all, I love the multiplayer, but this is something 343 needs to address.
Nope, it’s not just you. The game has broken aiming mechanics. Some are just pushing through with it and adapting to the messed up controls… me, I’m not going to force myself to compensate for something the developers need to fix. Not even sure why the heck they changed it from the Beta.
There are so many letdowns in MP, I don’t even know where to begin.
- No population counter. - Lobby shows emblems only and no gamertag / no SR/CSR rank. The lobby menu is just horrid. - The ranking system is a disaster. I find myself the lowest rank, but yet still with the highest kills/lowest death. Team balancing issues. - The radar is useless. 18m just doesn’t cut it. Sorry 343’s Proteam, but will are not all pros. Have this in your own MLG Pro playlist. - Spawning issues. Typical though when game just released. - 5 playlists. Weekend Social needs to be Weekday and Weekend 24/7. Infection? Doubles? ect. - Whats the point of groundpounding when is leaves you extremely vulnerable. Useless. - I sell 90% of my REQs. Should have sell in bulk feature. Its extremely rare if I get a helmet/visor/armor/stance/assignation. - Dead zone in higher sensitivity’s. - Aim assist need to be buffed slightly for AR. Matter in fact aiming in general needs a fix. - The maps just seem indifferent to me. I dont know if it because of AR starts? Need more maps! Why are some triple tiered. - I never thought of respawn times being a factor, but in H5 5 seconds feels like 10. - Is there even a Killcam? - I use the Pistol 80% of the time as well as the whole Halo community. Might as well make it a primary. - Grenades might need a little nerfing. - No leaderboards. - I play a lot of SWAT or should I say SWATNUMS. Balance this. - Plasma caster needs a buff. - No medal review after game. No individual player page to see what enemies used what. ect. - The whole AR starts is starting to get to me. Thanks 343 pro-team.Just some things I have found in MP that needs to be changed. Overall gameplay is very smooth.
To be honest, I thought Halo 5 Beta was a better set-up.
FIX!!!
Agreed, the aiming is my biggest issue at the moment, it’s either too sensitive or not enough which is obviously caused by the X/Y axis not being the same.

I’m seriously so glad I’m not the only one who is having the issue. Cause in campaign it feels so normal and fluid but in multiplayer I mess with my sensitivity all the time trying to make it work. Definitely needs to address. Other than that I’m absolutely loving the game
No
Halo games have always had a higher horizontal sensitivity than vertical.

Then why is my vertical sensitivity higher than my horizontal? 10 sensitivity shouldn’t feel like 5 horizontally and 10 vertically.

> - The ranking system is a disaster. I find myself the lowest rank, but yet still with the highest kills/lowest death. Team balancing issues. That’s because you need to win matches to climb the ranks, not just have a high K/D.

> - Dead zone in higher sensitivity’s. Haven’t really noticed an issue, tbh.

> - I never thought of respawn times being a factor, but in H5 5 seconds feels like 10. Agreed. A slightly shorter respawn timer would be nice. Right now it’s just long enough to make you lose momentum.
> - Is there even a Killcam? Good question. Did 343i take it out?
> - I use the Pistol 80% of the time as well as the whole Halo community. Might as well make it a primary. A range nerf is the only thing it needs.

> - The whole AR starts is starting to get to me. Thanks 343 pro-team. At least it’s not the Halo 3 AR, amirite?
Not sure why people have only been noticing this just now. It’s been that way since CE.
Aiming is definitely messed up. In basically every Halo game and every other FPS, I can usually out gun people because I can usually get on target very quickly and stay there. In Halo 5, I am lucky if I even get on target but I can’t stay there long enough to do anything. It’s so clunky and not fluid at all. I don’t know what 343 or the pro team was thinking when they thought this was a good aiming mechanic. I don’t play arena and am really being turned off of warzone because of it. I can stand still and shoot at a boss that barely moves and still hardly hit it because it slows down and speeds up too much. Absolute crap aiming system.
I will admit to two things:
-
Bad spawns (at least in Swat)
-
A little too much Swatnums

Those two are pretty big issues. The spawns are a huge issue, at least. I’ve gotten a few double kills on the same person because of spawn killing and I’m pretty sure some guy got a quad kill off of me once because I was spawn killed so many times.
Yeah. I refuse to touch Arena until dead zones are fixed. I have to play on at least 8 as anything lower feels like I’m turning a brick. MCC felt so much more responsive and accurate. I was only to play a bit of the beta on my buddy’s console, but I do distinctly recall how awesome the aiming felt, it felt WAY better than how it is now.
My only two other biggest gripes are the motion tracker and grenades. Tracker should be 30m. Period. 18m for their MLG MASTOR QUIKSCOPEZ or whatever playlists/modes, but 30m for everything else. That is not meaningful change, it’s just change for the sake of change. It has always been 30m, and has always been perfectly functional.
Grenades seem pretty OP to me. Lots will probably disagree with me though. It shouldn’t kill me from 5m away when I have 1/3 of my shield and full health, splash damage needs a nerf imo. Most of my matches in Arena have led to this game being renamed Nado 5: Grenadians.

The motion tracker range does need to be increased. This is the only game that has a minimap that I don’t use. It’s absolutely worthless.
Grenades do need a nerf. It’s near impossible to get out of kill range of one even with thrust, it seems. They did so much right with this game, but they broke a lot too. Hopefully they’ll decide that their pro team, or whatever, isn’t above all, in terms of their opinion, and they’ll go with what the community says. After all, you build a game for the majority, not the (very small) minority.

Yeah, I’ve even had times where the tracker wouldn’t even show someone running right at me, directly in front of me. It’s broken.
I understand that they needed to get Halo back into the competitive scene, but really, that is pretty small minority compared to the vast majority of people who just want to relax and have a good time, not strain their necks leaning in so they’re 5 inches from the TV while they sweat a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew.

Exactly. If they want to get back into the competitive scene, then just make a playlist that does all that and keep the rest out of it. It is an insanely small amount of people who truly play truly competitively, so why should the mass majority be subjected to their terms? This incredibly low aim assist affects me more than it does most people (I can explain why but one of my recent forum posts explains it), so I don’t mind that they don’t cater to me but why break a system that worked so well?
100% Agree. 10 sensitivity is too slow horizontally but way too fast vertically, for me anyway.
