Anyone else having trouble with the S7?

Idk if it’s just me not being good, but the sniper feels very hard to use. I was Champion 118 in Halo 5’s Ranked Snipers playlist but the Infinite sniper feels very hard to land shots with. Just me or am I not the only one?

i know what you mean. You have to aim almost pixelperfect to land any shots it seems, especially no-scope. Aiming in general feels a bit off and random sometimes, other thread about that are already opened.

I hope they tweak the Sniper a bit

I think the aim assist is perfect and the majority hold that opinion

Could just be a “git gud” situation on my part. Not looking forward to playing against PC players with the weak aim assist that we currently have, but it is what it is. I’ll just get better.

I don’t think so my guy it’s very mixed

LOL I’m curious on where your data comes from. That being said it’s very hard for me to use too, but I also am not as good as I use to be. Another reason I like the practice range.

well ya, the h5 sniper was objectively the easiest to use cause of the aim assist and magnestism. Infinite has very little mag on the snipe and if you miss by a hair you will miss in general. The biggest critique I have for the snipe is it feels slow in regards to the kick back animation. Im fine with everything else as the snipe should be hard to use imo

I completely feel the same way I regularly hit onyx and sometimes made champ in H5 and I find it hard to use on controller a huge problem is that the bots have aimbot and whenever you get shot it removes you from aiming they really should allow you to keep aiming when you are being shot if they are going to nerf aim assist and bullet magnetism.

I’ve been having trouble getting body shots with it, and I don’t think I’ve gotten one actual headshot with it yet. But maybe its because these smaller maps don’t exactly have the long sight lines optimal for casual sniper play.

The dude was world ranked at 119 though…. if he’s having trouble that’s indicates that maybe things might need to change a little. The H5 sniper was easier to use but it’s still a halo sniper and with advanced mobility to account for.

with the h5 sniper. Aka the easiest to use sniper. Dont get me wrong, thats still cool but lets not be appealing to authority as a way to reinforce a point. Tha magnetism acocunted for that mobility, but then also made the gun out perform how it should in all situations. You could miss with the h5 sniper and still get a headshot, thats how bad it was.

Infinite sniper is harder and should be harder. Much like the skewer, its potentially a one shot precision weapon. You need to be on point to get use of it. The game should not reward players even when they miss.

That being said, as I mentioned, there are aspects of it I do think that needs tweaking, aim assist and mag is not on that list imo.

You couldn’t “miss” by much it wasn’t like use the BR or AR it still took a skill to use well with the advanced movement And yeah I think using the fact that this guy is literally world ranked in snipers (even if the sniper has increased magnetism) and can’t hit a shot with the sniper on controller is problematic.
-I agree with you on the Fact that the magnetism should stay the same and the sniper should be hard to use but that’s a huge red flag for me.

I suck with it… and the skewer, but They are rather fun weapons to use.

Mouse and keyboard here so don’t notice any difference between it and using the sniper in MCC. I think aim assist is almost completely disabled on it though.

I’d say the zoom is too much and the sensitivity doesnt match. The maps are also tiny slayer maps.

In past games compared to any other game the sniper rifles aim assist in insane, you cannot “sweep” snipe in any other game. So I do think its necessary to finally nerf the sniper

I want to agree, my aim with a controller feels really good as I’m getting upwards of 50% accuracy on some matches. To me the S7 just feels like its got a high skill floor.
But a lot of other people are definitely having problems, perhaps there is an easy-to-miss bug which causes some people to have reduced or no aim assist which we are not experiencing. Whatever the situation is, there is enough people noticing that I think there is something up.

I have noticed the aim assist is much weaker or seemigly not even there. There is little room for mistake when it comes to aiming now, which is a double edged sword. On one hand even a vet player needs to practice to get their aim good again, on the other hand there’s a high skill ceiling and players who become very skilled will dominate.

Like the Sidekick for example I found hard to use after playing a ludicrous amount of Halo 5. But after doing weapon drills and matches, I found myself getting overkills with the -Yoink- last night.

That’d be true if you’re talking about PC players only, for console players you’re dead wrong.

With aim assist like this, PC players are going to dominate Console players

Idk I actually find the sniper in h2a, reach, and 4 to be easier to use than 5’s. those 3 also have ridiculous amounts of magnetism, but unlike 5 the player movement is a lot slower and more predictable.

H5 literally curves bullets like your Angelina Jolie in Wanted
