I don’t really no how to explain it but I’m finding myself having a terrible time trying to aim in H5. When I’ve played multiplayer in other Halo games I tend to ease into the mechanics of aiming pretty easily but with H5, I’ve been changing my look sensitivity a lot but to no avail. It’s especially noticeable when trying to aim with the pistol. I can’t seem to finish off my kills 8 out 10 times when in a 1v1 situation.
If I do manage to kill someone, I’m spending most of my time hiding to regain shields because players are able to come out of nowhere with the reduced radar, sprint, and thrusters. Don’t get me wrong I love the spartan abilities but I would also love to be able to finish most of kills when I use the pistol from time to time.

Thanks for your valuable input. I’m well aware they reduced aim assist but I’m beginning to think the aim acceleration is kind of wonky. It’s very noticeable in the pistol

Yes i feel it also…hope something is done for a more steady approach
I do very much like the lack of aim assist. I think peeople having issues subscribe to the age old cod spray and pray tactic.
Aim acceleration just takes a bit of getting used to, but on a controller its useful.
Only played a little so far, I’m pretty bad at MP, got my first medal with the pistol in match 1 for landing all shots on target for a kill. Read into it what you like but I think it’s pretty accurate. Hope your issue isn’t related to your lan/wan.
Yes, I agree… the aim acceleration is too high, it actually throws off my aiming a lot. They need to tone it down, and have it match with the low aim-assist.
If you watch several YT videos of high level players, you will notice they get many of their kills by sweeping across taking advantage of the high aim acceleration. This… I don’t want, I don’t want to have to sweep, I want to be able to aim with my own dexterity.
If you played beta you know they’ve changed something. It was damn near perfect in beta but it’s off now. I’m fine with less aim assist but at least give us the option to turn off this damn acceleration.

Alright well just send me a message on Live when you get a chance. I’ll receive it on smartglass so I’ll just hop right on.

Oh Yes, we need to be able to turn off the aim acceleration… it’s really messing with my aiming. It’s the only console game I’ve play so far where the aim-assist and aim acceleration doesn’t match and is counter-intuitive.
I really don’t want to force myself to adapt to the “sweeping” style of aiming just for this game.
Yes, the aim assist sensitivity drop off target makes the reticle incredibly heavy and sluggish. I made a thread about this in the H5 support forum. Hopefully 343 will give it some attention. It would be nice to get some community support behind this complaint. Its a core issue with this game, that imo has precedence over every other issue.
I found that I am way better in this game than any previous Halo. Aim assist being gone let’s me know that I didn’t ever rely on it and am actually better than most of my opponents. This is good news. Practice my friend.
