Halo 5 is extremely hard for me to enjoy. 95% of the time, my deaths in the game are not related to my personal skill level compared to the enemy’s. I do get out-BR’d here and there, but most of time, I get massacred from things I can’t do anything about. I seem to have a lot of trouble with getting spawn killed or shot at right after spawning, I seem to get constantly sniped on Empire/Eden, it is near impossible to kill someone who has the energy sword, I get spawn naded every now and then, and worst of all, I hardly ever get a good team, and if my team ends up doing bad, I end up usually doing bad as well and getting into unfair situations, like when my team dies off and leaves me to fight 3 enemies at once (these situations constantly happen to me). My usual performance on this game is worse than any other Halo. I realize I can’t line up headshots as well with the lack of aim assist, and I don’t expect to do really good every single game or win every match I play, but I don’t see why it takes me 10+ games to actually win or have a fun match. It’s only like this on Halo 5. Pegasus seems to be the only map I can have fun on at this point. I can easily switch over to Halo 3 or any of the other Halos and do far better than I can on this game. This post pretty much sums up my Halo 5 beta experience and for me, this game is near impossible to enjoy
Does anyone else on here have a hard time playing this game regardless of your actual level of skill? I’ve seen some people on different Halo pages on Facebook say they have had a very similar experience with the game as I have had
Regardless of the reasons for dying that I mentioned, I’m sure most people who reply, if anyone does, is going to tell me to “get good” or that I die and lose a lot because I suck. I started out at Onyx Tier 2 in Team Slayer, but got deranked to Tier 1 because of how hard it is for me to win compared to any other Halo. I don’t see myself playing the final game very much at all if my experience continues to be this bad. Maybe things will improve in the final game with all the final weapon tuning and spawns and all
Not really actually, most of the time I do die because of BR’s and not other weapons. Dodging nades has become easier due to thruster. When I know the enemy has the sniper I usually try to hunt him down and don’t enter open areas. Also the issue with spawn killing I don’t really understand ppl complaining about, it happens very rarely to me. I’m not telling you to get better, but you should probably rethink your playstyle. Of course there are matches were u just get ripped apart, but that’s like 1 match out of 10 at my side.

Nope I have a very similar situation actually, I am not a bad player either in any of the other games, I am pretty sure I have a positive K/D and Win/Lose and everything throughout all the games. In this game however I was doing well week 2 but this week seems weird.
Just to let you know much of the problem is that the bullet magnetism doesn’t respond when you line up shots to the head, but will register more when aiming at the chest (you actually get headshots aiming at the chest). It is an issue in the Beta and will probably be fixed for the full game obviously. Also the time to kill is faster in this game, and the shots come off of the BR faster than before as well. I hope this helps, because this kind of helped me. Also play after midnight in Pacific time, because the skill level of players drops dramatically after then as well, if you want to practice slightly and make sure things work better for you.

The spawn killing is actually also because the spawn system in the beta will usually spawn you near a teammate, this is a lazy spawn system which is hopefully just there for the beta. However, since you are spawning by teammates, they are obviously looking for enemies and the enemies are looking for them. So basically because they decide to spawn you by your teammate, you instantly end up in a firefight, which is probably what the OP meant by getting spawn killed. Its really only bad on Eden and Pegasus, with the occasional Truth as well.
It seems you’re having trouble adjusting to the game and maybe a bit of bad luck to dull your confidence. Keep trying and it will surely come to you. I do suggest you find a group of similarly skilled players to group up with, if only just another player. Not only does it make winning easier and allows less truly terrible players onto your team, talking with someone else provides a basis of comparison to find what you’re lacking in and improve.
Personally I didn’t struggle picking up on the game but couldn’t get out of Gold III despite always having a 2.0+ K/D when playing alone. Grabbing a team caused me to win 20-30 games in a row one night, pushing me all the way from Gold III to Semi Pro 1500. Since then I’ve only ever bothered to play Slayer with other team members and have achieved a rank of over 1800 Semi-Pro. Hoping to get Pro before the beta ends :D!
I can’t stress this strongly enough, play with a team. Halo 5 is far more team based so its much easier to be brought down by one inexperienced player because of the lack of communication and will to win which is crippling in a game where movement is faster than ever and kill times are 2nd only to Halo CE (supposedly).
I don’t get killed 1v1 ever. Only time I die is becasue of my own mistake like trying to take on 2-3 people by myself. I am yet to go negative in 50+ games. I think my worst game was something like 12 kills 10 assists and 9 deaths. My K/D is nearly 2.0 higher than it was in any other halo game. The game is too easy. Without a fun 1- 50 ranking system I know I will get bored of it. I am the worlds most interesting halo player
As for what you said, I am yet to have been spawn killed even ONCE. I can’t believe you when you say it happens conbstatly when it never happens to me. SPrint and thruster can get you out of any situation or bad spawn.

Well if your not dying often, then you wouldn’t be spawning often would you haha. But in all seriousness, Do you actually aim for the head? or do you go chest x3 then head? or what, because I swear the headshots for me only register about 60% of the time.

I didn’t think about that.lol but still if it was a problem I think I would have expierenced at least some spawn kills.
I just aim for Thehead. But I do hear people say to go 3 to the chest and one to the head is easier but I’ve never tried it.Perfect kills are easier than ever so might as well just go all headshots. Light Rifle I dobody shots though
I play on 2 Sensitivity. I think some players who find the game hard should just lower their sensitivity. Even 3 is too high for me. Then you just have to focus hard. LIke tell yourself that the next person you see you are going to land all 4 headshots and focus on it. When I do bad I usuually find that i was not focused.

If only you could watch my matches, you would see that I’m being serious about getting spawn killed often
I’ve found that while I was great at Halo historically, in Halo 5, I’m constantly finding myself outnumbered in my engagement. In every 1v1 battle, I come out on top, but those are few and far between.
Maps and general entrances/doorways are even larger than Halo 4’s. Any spot on the any map is wide open to a teamshoott. I poke out for 2 secs to finish somebody , I instantly get punished by getting shot at from far away.
Also another reason It can get frustrating is because an enemy can spawn a whole mob of teamates by him in Halo 5. Even if you are in close radar range

Same, I can’t stop getting triple teamed or quadruple teamed, but usually because my whole team dies off and leaves me to fight the enemy team alone

I must have bad luck with this because half the time, I spawn away from my team rather than with them

Yes, but one can always back up u know, it’s not like the enemy circles u all the time. Usually the enemy team is just on one side
