Is anyone else getting lobbies that are completely one sided and sweaty?
It seems like this recent update has completely broken SBMM to a point where I’m either fighting tooth and nail to win or gettign 1 kill and 10 deaths.

If you’re going in solo you’re gonna have a bad time.
The game purposely gives you bad teammates, and also will make lobbies harder depending on your challenges.
You would think with the lack of a current player base they would adjust the SBMM but no.

I play solo, every lobby is sweaty.
Full of high ranked playing with low ranks so they can dominate the game.
This is as a result of low self esteem and feeling of low self worth and also I think they enjoy being the big dog as if they play at their own rank they cannot dominate like they can in lower lobbies.
Simple fix is in MM match mismatched teammates with the similar (after all their are so many who do it)
And let them Smurf it out !
I mean I would play with friends but I don’t have any… so easier said then done I guess.
It’s just frustrating because there have been periods where it’s felt reasonbly balanced and fun but recently I can tell something is off. I’ve been playing a lot of Oynx players too which I’m just no where near that skill level and it just begs the question at which point is my MMR going to tank itself?

No I’m right there with you bro, none of my friends like halo anymore. so it’s become this Situation of I’ll hop on for a few big teams games until I can’t find a match anymore (cos I’m on late night nows in the UK)
BTB matches should be less sweaty just because each team has more players on it. The fewer the player count, the higher the importance of each player preformance is. This is why being a man down in 4 vs 4 hits so much harder then in BTB matches.

What happened to Fiesta? Every match we are getting obliterated. I’m not a horrible player but it feels like HCS Fiesta and I’m competing in an eSports tournament. Makes no sense.

I find the sbmm throws up ‘equal’ teams but it generally means three players on each team going negative and having a rubbish experience (myself included) and one player on each team playing like a pro and carrying the team.
It literally feels like this every match.
Whether you win or lose then depends on how negative the three weaker players go.
I just want a match where all players are at my skill level, not these varying skill levels where we win if I don’t go too negative. I want a chance at going positive occasionally.
Is that too much to ask?
Also, inb4 ‘its because of the low population’.

I’m pretty sure there has been some adjustments to the matchmaking algorithm, it clearly shows in BTB.
Also there are still probably tens of thousands of people playing the game and excuses like “low population” and “only the sweats are playing” doesn’t make sense at this point at all.
Just accept the matchmaking system is broken. I don’t think there is a single game today which isn’t a complete excrement-festival when it comes to matchmaking. Some games does it on purpose (like Call of Duty with their EOMM difficulty throttling) and 343… is probably just incompetent. In any case it’s just annoying eventually it’s not worth to waste your precious free time playing games which will make you angry and nothing else.
I’m a sweaty so yes, every lobby is a sweat fest.
I think nearly all of my games lately have been really close. Either win or lose by 1 in CTF + KotH. So to me thats pretty accurate SBMM. Some rounds i needed to be better in and i think we would have won.
It is either sweaty or high ping lobbies. Very annoying.

Word for word agree with all of this. ‘Balanced’ teams does not mean a fair matchup for each player. Literally, matchmaking should be on the player, not the team.

It’s just as unbalanced with friends. here is the 4th defeat in a row while playing co-op with a friend

All games are like this, defeat after defeat. And especially unfair for my co-op buddy.
To be honest, this kind of a match shouldn’t happen if the matchmaking was doing it’s thing properly. This is just very disappointing especially when it’s only 4 persons in the same lobby. A complete waste of time.
Does BTB use skill based matching? I thought it didn’t. BTB & Quick Play should be true social playlists.
Both of them use a some form of algorithm (sbmm and team balancing) it’s very certain. Wasn’t there an outcry about the BTB because it wasn’t this sweaty about three months ago.
Sweaty Halo nerds are probably the only people left in the declining player base.

No offense , but if your friend went 0-10 he should not be playing doubles right now, probably shoul be in the training mode or playing some casual modes practicing more.
