I’ve gotten back into this game about 2 months ago and when I got back on I was around level 54. I started playing again and now at my current level of 95, I haven’t unlocked a single legendary helmet, armor piece, or visor, while subsequently having (just got) a 12th legendary emblem. Is there any better way to get legendary equipment in this game or is it just that it’s still a dumb luck system. (Any help towards tips to get legendary equipment is welcome)
Side note: is there an increased percent chance to get a legendary on multiple openings without and if so, does getting legendary reqs, boosts, and emblems remove said boost?
Edit: I completed all of the commons to rares, with my first being the Locus Edge at 112
I would say it’s dumb luck because I didn’t get Halo 2 BR till like 135 or so and most get it around 85. I’ve bought a lot of packs, with money too, which doesn’t make sense why I didn’t get it earlier

You’ll get everything eventually. Just keep opening golds.
I used to save rp till I could buy 3 silver and 1 gold then open all at once. It worked out pretty well. That way I would at least get some gold stuff unlocked also.
3000 rp back for silvers
6000 rp back for golds
The very best thing to do is open nothing but silvers until they refund points instead of unlocks and then open golds. There is silver level stuff in gold packs so if you open golds first you could get silver stuff at a gold price. If you unlock all the silver stuff first you will get only gold stuff in gold packs. Yes it’s all random what comes in packs. Just grind out points and keep opening them.

Once you unlock everything that silver packs can unlock instead of two certifications you will get two 1500 point req cards… So you get 3000 rp back after getting a silver pack. Once you unlock everything golds can unlock you get back two 3000 point req cards.

Just open silvers till they refund then move on to golds is the best way to do it. But honestly if I were still grinding I would going for XP and not rp. Hitting 152 gives you a “token of appreciation” in Halo Infinite… Getting all the reqs gives you nothing. You will get them all on the way to 152 if you are patient.

Go for XP you will get all the unlocks sooner or later… In case you didn’t see where I edited my last comment.
It’s basically pay to win for a chance to unlock…no skill involved. Everything is basically a grind when it comes to unlocking anything. I still remember not getting classic Halo armour until around 100+ and yet some people reported getting them in there’s 10’s/20s until 343i gave it to everyone…which was frustrating.
YES. This E3, we got the Plat packs, right? Well, I happened to round up some other lower-tiered packs for an opening. What happened? Of everything I opened, the things I feel were worth it was given to me through the LOW-TIERED packs that were even DAILY LOGINS/COMPLETION packs. I spent all my 40.000+ points on Gold packs THEN opened the Plats and I got NOTHING good. Literally the only Legendary item I got from ALL of them was a Battle Rifle that I don’t use. I feel so damn robbed and I don’t think I’ll play this game in a while now.

You are only SR99 so you probably have a ton of silver level stuff you haven’t unlocked yet so they can be in higher level packs. You should be opening nothing but silvers first then golds will always give you good stuff.

You stated you just spent 40k on golds so you recently have opened some. Keep opening silvers till they refund two 1500 point req cards instead of unlocks and then you will know you have all the silver level stuff out of the way. Then golds will be way more likely to always give better stuff.
Nope. I’ve had everything you can get from packs unlocked for a long time. I was frustrated waiting to get the H2 BR and a few of the Magnums, but that was a long time ago.

Yeah I feel bad for those who joined H5 late in it’s life or didn’t play a lot. If you played solid since launch and unlocked everything quickly it was way easier than those who now have a very bloated req system. Not to mention players who missed out on all those free packs given out during the HCS events.
