Anyone else find Warzone to be impossible?

Warzone has, over time, become one of my favorite game modes to play. I like the mix of PvE and PvP action, the huge maps, the big battles, etc. Though I do often find myself scratching my head over how to proceed into battle.

I do play with a group of friends occasionally and that generally helps our team because of communication and stuff. Though most of the time, I go into Warzone solo. I feel like it can be very tough to make a difference or help turn the tide. Let’s say my team only has one Armory, my options are to go try to capture the Garage/Spire/Fortress/Monument(which is like trying to break into Fort Knox if the enemy team controls it), go capture the enemy Armory(which is just a smaller version of the difficult task of capturing the aforementioned middle base) or go try my luck on a group of enemy AI or an AI boss.

I swear, I think the enemy AI is set to Legendary. Even Promethean Soldiers or Elites can school you if you’re fighting solo, especially the Soldiers. It’s like these enemies are designed to be taken down primarily by a group of players. I’ll Spartan Charge and boost around and unload my Assault Rifle on a Soldier and still sometimes get killed by their LightRifle shots or whatever else. The bosses themselves are a crapshoot. Trying to go after Remnant/Elder Hunters by myself is a total brick wall. The same goes for Knights, among others. Am I doing something wrong with the AI fights?

So overall, I just end up feeling like my options are either go after the middle base or an Armory and get slaughtered or go after AI enemies and only maybe end up getting slaughtered. I just feel like cannon fodder in the grand scheme.

What should I be doing in Warzone to get ahead and help my team win? Where will I be most effective? What should my mode of thinking be?

Any help is appreciated!

the only way is teamwork dont go lonewolf

Teamwork helps a lot. Which is hard to do when you play by yourself considering everyone is either in a party, doesn’t have their mic in, or only uses the kinects mic so you can hear the songs of the damn’d through a bucket.

You guys are right about teamwork, though I was hoping for some more in-depth tips.

If you really find it hard, try going to Warzone Assault for a while, it is pure pvp and sometimes gives the same req points for finishing a match, even if you lose.

Headshots on soldiers and elites. Never engage groups of them at close range and never spartan charge them. Take down every one but one or MAYBE a few from a distance and then slip around them to melee them in the back for an easy kill.

Knights are easy. Gun off both arms and melee in the back. Always kill watchers first. Thin out any soldiers that spawn with knights before trying to engage them as the soldiers are always WAY more dangerous.

In Warzone you pretty much have to rely on yourself, since you won’t be passively getting req level progress from your teammates like in Warzone Assault. If you are lone wolfing, then try to hang around a few other people.

Don’t engage AI up close. Pick them off with a BR or something other than an automatic. You will eventually kill them if you keep at it. Soldiers and elites you can splatter. SMG with kinetic bolts works great on banshees. The only things I really struggle to take out solo are the hunters. If you can spawn in “The Answer” SAW though…problem solved.

Communicating with teammates helps tremendously. I play too many Warzone games where no one communicates at all. Talk with teammates and organise to split off into groups, some dealing with AI bosses, others flanking and the rest drawing attention/fighting on the front lines with vehicles and power weapons.

I think they need more AI drops, even dropping AI directly into player occupied bases to stir the teams up a little bit and cause a bit of chaos. Certainly more interesting and fun than 8 players sitting in a base with sentinel BRs, DMRs and Energy Swords for the whole match unchallenged.

The people that keep saying go in as a team that’s difficult for a lot of people sometimes and if the game had a good skill matching system just want to be a problem in the first place but it shouldn’t matter if I go in lone wolf or with a team I should still be able to play with skilled players of the same skill level it is true that having a team means better communication but that shouldn’t be determine on who wins or loses it should be the players and their skill.

Get better

Okay wow if you’re getting killed by soldiers then it’s you and the way you approach the battle. You can take down minor bosses by yourself it’ll just take time. Since its just you, you have to stay mid range while picking off the lesser ai that spawn with the boss. Once they are gone you can close a bit and fight the main boss while ALWAYS staying near cover or a path to escape. Don’t spartan charge any ai unless they are literally about to die, that’ll get your visor smashed in. Also know boss weak spots knights are a cake walk to take down by myself aim for the orbs. Know how bosses spawn and in what fashion I can kill the first elite that spawns in the tunnel on apex 7 in under 5 seconds with one melee hit. He enters via jumping if you wait right behind the area he lands in you can melee him and run from his lesser minions. Most bosses have tricks like this just use your brain and look at things from a different perspective sure there’s a time to rush but there’s also a time to hang back and think

Honestly for many bosses you have to use power weapons or vehicles. Going after some bosses without it can be slow and boring and sometimes and enemy comes along and yoinks it. So overall just use power weapons. Anything works and it’s totally worth it to use them be chase reqs make warzone more fun.

Sentinel DMR witb a silencer and you’re set
