I’m playing The Oracle on Halo 2 Anniversary and as I’m playing it, I keep remembering how scary they were in 1. It doesn’t help that the music accompanying the flood levels in 1 and 2 are kinda tense and spooky themselves too.
Anyone else feel the same way?
I found the flood most scary in Halo 2. The lvl layout helped too.
SPOILER:
the mission of ´´hight charity´´ was the most scary one
They were horrifying back in halo 2
What do ya want little pink pixies?

…You know, it’s normal to be afraid of things, especially when the point IS to scare you. I’m just asking since I know a lot of people probably don’t care about the flood or just killed them easily like every other enemy.
No need to be a jerk about it.

I’m sure he doesn’t mean to be a jerk, only making a joke, nothing wrong with that.
OT: It’s the Flood, their scary because they are designed to be that way but you do get used to killing them after awhile.
A Flood with a Rocket Launcher is always scary though.

Oh, well then sorry on my part. Usually when people say something like that it’s normally to be a jerk, rather than a joke.
Shotgun Flood are more scary than rocket launcher flood though. Then again they can both kill you easily.
They scared me in Halo 4, that smile made my blood curl…
I did find them scary when I first played Combat Evolved! Now, I just find them disgusting.
Not really, however to me it just depends on the level, music, & scene (moment) I have to be in a scared mood just to be scared from that XD
Some floods are very creepy, others (take a hike) lol
When I was younger when Halo 2 first came out, I remember muting my TV at the flood parts. H2 with the level music and flood sound effects were pretty spooky.
I always hate playing flood levels. Even after going through library, two betrayals and keyes, i still find them horrifying. I he used to killing them, but it just sucks having to deal with a whole mob of flood.
They always have that dramatic entrance in cutscenes and that music doesn’t help. I have never been comfortable with flood only missions (or majority), because they are dead empty souls. They violate bodies dead or alive.
Well, considering my mothers birthday literally falls on Halloween, I grew up liking “scary” things.
Though, I will say what creeps me out about the Flood, is not so much what they do to the host’s body, its what they do with the host’s mind. If the terminal with Keys is any indication, it would have to be a scary feeling having what makes you, you stripped away from you bit by bit, and being helpless to do any thing about it.
Since MCC came out, I played all 4 games in a row and by far they were at their worst in halo 2. Immense numbers and darn near impossible to kill. Making Halo 3 a relief. Then comes along halo 4. I would trade knights for the flood any day.
Oh man… I always thought they looked like yummy food. The little popcorn ones anyway.
Now I feel weird, was I suppose to be scared? Uglajksdghuf///
yes
those levels were always the toughest and most suspenseful
I was afraid of them in Halo: CE, but I was only seven back then. I think they’ve been far easier than the Covenant in all the games, atleast on legendary.
I wasn’t really scared by them at first. During that moment in Halo CE when you first foght them, you only fight the infection types (the little ones). My initial reaction was “Why am I being chased by little popcorn kernels with little feelers?” But later in the level when they take over the elites, all I could think was “WTF!?” They were scary for a while, but they just got annoying. I got so much joy from killing Guilty Spark and then blowing them all to hell.
I thought the flood was scary when I first started playing halo but I got over it as I kept playing the game.
