Anyone else feeling Halo fatigue?

I know a lot of you aren’t going to be able to relate to me here, and that’s fine. Plenty’ll just tell me to stop playing, and that’s alright, too.

So, I’ve been playing since CE came out, my dad got me an xbox as a kid, and CE just happened to be with it; since then, it’s been my favourite video game of all time. But that love, that…excitement, isn’t really there as strongly as it was before. I’ve been ridiculously excited for Halo right up until the master chief collection, and I’m starting to wonder if perhaps we’re just getting… Too much Halo?

There have been seven Halo games in the last six years, we only had three releases between 01-07, and Halo was at its absolute height.

Take a look at Elder Scrolls, or Fallout, or GTA. Think about the sheer hype that surrounds them, thats because they make fans wait. No one really hypes games like Assassin’s creed or call of duty.

I’d really like if they just continuously support Halo 5 for the next few years. No more sequels, not until at least 2018, with Halo 6. Give us Halo 5 ODST as an expansion pack, give us more Master chief missions, stuff like that. Am I alone in wishing for this?

New phone, accidently posted early, sorry. Hold on.

Edit: Fixed.

I don’t feel Halo fatigue but I don’t particularly care for Halo 5. you are 100% right about the release times, most of the games I hyp over are the long release time one and they tend to be my favourite because you want more but you have to wait for it. if you release to often it becomes stale for example Cod or battlefield.

I feel game fatigue in general. Dont have the time, energy or will to play video games anymore. Try to squese in some halo games whenever I can

I’m still relatively young, so I can’t really talk yet, but I have noticed that I have stopped playing some games, AC being one of them, though that was mainly because it wasn’t evolving. Bizarrely, I still love Pokemon, though. Halo for me is one that I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of.

Halo fatigue? Man I have a Halo craving, given that there’s been a serious lack of information about Halo 5’s story!

No I’m not fatigued been playing since day one I’m still passionate and can’t wait for new bits of lore that come out in my favorite universe.

Perhaps my biggest double standard as well… Some games just don’t need to ‘evolve’ for me, but I still expect some games to.

I’ve played a few games where they just nail the formula on their first try. It’s probably why they become so popular. Both Halo and Pokemon fit into that category for me.

The difference I find between halo and AC/COD though is there are remakes or ‘small’ games between halo, whereas AC/COD pump out a major tittle every year. I think in AC’s case its also been bogged down a bit in mini-games to try and keep the game fresh. Its also fairly vast, making it hard to casually get through it all before the next one starts being hyped.

I don’t tend to play remasters as much myself. They are enjoyable, but I already played the hell out o them ages ago.

I don’t feel halo fatigue yet lol.

Eh. They’ve pretty consistently spaced out major Halo releases since 2001 and remakes along with spin-offs with a very different feel, trying to do very different things don’t really interrupt that for me. If Halo 4 had come out last year, and Halo 6 was slated for next year, and this had been the trend for years, I would probably feel that way.

All I feel is SHEER, UNFILTERED HALO 5 ADDICTION

I actually have not been this hyped in a long time. I am a lifelong star wars fan but I do not really care about the new movie.
Halo 5 on the other hand is the only game this year I give a hoot about.

OP, I can understand it very well. I’ve had Halo fatigue, Guild Wars series fatigue, Roller Coaster Tycoon fatigue, etc. You should never play a game when it is no longer fun, that ruins the purpose of a game. Take a break, go do other things, and return when you want to. I thought I was done with Guild Wars after 2 years, and then the last expansion came out and now I’m fully invested in GW2. I was fatigued of console gaming/Halo after 4, but now I’m preparing for a new XOne with Halo 5… just take a break, and we’ll see you in the game again when you’re set!

Well, I’m definitely fatigued now. I finished Halo CE up to 4 on the MCC in the last week. Although I’m pretty sure it’s a passing thing as I’m still hyped as ever for Guardians.

I am feeling a no halo fatigue…I want halo 5 -Yoink!-

I think the thought that any franchise can get “fatigued” is well, frankly -Yoink-. If people are still buying it then there is clearly a demand and as a ravenous fan of Halo I am not anywhere near tired. I feel like we’re just getting started.

This type of thinking ruined Star Trek. Not that the new movies are bad, but they are regressions in the universe and come out every 3-4 years instead of on my screen for 22 weeks a year. And I do not want that disgusting line of thinking to force Halo to tone it down. If anything Halo needs more games in my opinion. Sure you can keep the core games on a 3 year cycle, but there should be more quality spinoffs. I want a Halo that copies Battlefield with huge battles that are filled with vehicles and massive maps. I want a Halo that focuses on fighting the Flood on some remote planet. I want a Halo themed rpg.
