I have pretty much everything that’s been made, halo related…all consoles, games, toys, books, nic-nacs, etc, etc…this Halo 5 console just feels like such a slap in the face…I’ve been looking forward to this for a while now, and after finding out the details, I feel like Nancy Pelosi just pulled an obamacare on me…who cares about Spartan Locke…where is Chief?..and to have the audacity to not even include a physical disk a $500 dollar price point…just ludicrous man…I guess I’m not the target demographic any more…someone with a steady income that’s not going anywhere any time soon…here’s a big middle finger to you 343…and a double one for you Microsoft!!!
What’s wrong with Halo 5? It looks to be amazing so far.
Don’t much about the game…I’m sure it’ll be alright…as a collector, I was really looking forward to the console package…that’s the huge let down

i’m a collector as well and i think it’s pretty good i prefer it would come with an elite controller or two controllers but man Halo 5 console edition plus Halo 5 limited edition in the same pack i think it’s fine.
What’s wrong with the console? No one is a bigger fan of Chief than I am, but I’m not seeing anything wrong here. Locke is a new and important character. So what? I might be getting the Master Chief controller.
Also, what’s the obsession with discs? Here I keep seeing everyone complaining about not having discs while I’ve been repurchasing many of my games digitally just so I can be rid of mine. I like not swapping discs or worrying about scratches. Either way, they’ve given in; you can get your discs. Gamestop is doing trade ins for the digital codes.
One more thing:

> I feel like Nancy Pelosi just pulled an obamacare on me…
Is this supposed to make sense? What does the house minority leader and peoples’ health insurance have to do with a Spartan Locke themed Xbox One? I think it’s meant to be some sort of political jab, which is not allowed here, regardless of whether there’s a complete lack of understanding regarding … any of it.
Anyway, chill out. Your reaction here is way too overwrought.

Seriously? This… Seriously? That’s enough Waypoint tonight.
This seems like the right time.
:^)
I honestly read that as “I’m mad at Halo, not because of gameplay but because the maxed out edition isnt maxed enough”
Don’t care about all of the little non essential cheap crap they pack in to try to justify the price point…and called me old fashioned, but I prefer something tangible that I can feel with my fingers, not something digitized… guess I’m just older than most nowadays…another benifit to that though, I got a steady income, unlike many of the posters here…I’m what you call a “source of revenue” for businesses…

The console is relatively basic imo. It is designed with Spartan Locke in mind, so the choice to buy it can be made with that aspect in mind alone.

Then buy the console AND the LCE
You wasted money with your stable income AND got a fancy looking paper weight, it’s a no lose!

Discs are not analog. They’re digital. The same information is getting installed on the console one way or the other. Either via the internet or a piece of plastic containing the exact same digital file. Either way, you can trade in the code card for a disc.
And I’m just going to go ahead and say it a third time for good measure: you can trade in the digital code for a disc.
And I’m 30 years old and gainfully employed, so don’t be presumptuous.

After buying the Ghost edition of course.

I like having things on disc or other forms of physical storage. It’s just comforting to know that it will always be there when I need it.
Also pretty much this whole episode when it comes to everything around here.

Whole lot of raging, not a lot of actually explaining why you dislike Halo 5.

But after I install it, how will I know it’s really there without the plastic disc? How will I accidantly scratch it? Why do people care so much about switching between games INSTANTLY digitally?? What will I look at during bathroom time?? HOW WILL I SEE MY REFLECTION?!?

It’s the opposite in my experience. I’ve had the 360 scratch the hell out of some of my discs, but the games I had digitally? Always reliable. I had my old 360 and all my games stolen once. I had to buy a new 360. Then I had to repurchase all of my stolen games. It was very expensive. But the games I had digitally? Reinstalled for free. For free.
So for me, I take more comfort in the digital versions, but that’s just because of bad luck with discs. lol

So I’ve preordered the LE from Gamestop. How might I go about trading the disc in for a digital code while keeping the other perks of the LE. Also thank you so much for posting this. I, like you, prefer digital downloads, and your post is the first I’ve heard of a trade in that goes from disk to digital. If my question can be answer in such a way that my wish is granted, then I am extremely appreciative of your post.
Also this nitpicking has to stop. If you don’t like the console that’s rough, but those who are true fans of the game should really not be too obsessed with how the console looks. It’s the content and scope of the game that truly matters.

Actually, I’m not sure it works that way around. I know you can trade the code for a disc, but I haven’t heard if you can trade a disc for a code. You might want to call Gamestop and ask. Plus, you’re getting the fancy disc and case … it might be better just to buy the standard edition digitally and try to sell the fancy disc and case for around the same price.
