Anyone else excited for MCC's future?

Infinite is already dead and to be honest I’m glad it’s dead because MCC is better in every way whether from a casual, community, or competitive perspective.

All MCC needs is one more big update to become immortal.

MCC Last Update:

Mod kits for Reach and 4
Steam Workshop compatibility for modding
Custom Games Browser compatibility for 2 and 4
Maybe throw in all the unreleased skins/recolors as a final season as well

And Halo will live for another 10 years solely off Steam Mods because modders will accomplish what 343 can’t or is unable to do, whether it be new maps, new modes, new guns, new campaigns, etc. Hell they don’t even need to add in ODST Flood Firefight; our modders will probably figure it out themselves after several months.

Im pretty hyped for the future of the MCC. I don’t own a gaming PC at the moment, but strongly considering just for MCC mods. If 343 can continue to push out bug fixes after all of the planned content is released, modders will be able to add a lot of longevity to the game.

I hope they add mod support for console :frowning:
A bit like what Bethesda did with Skyrim and Fallout 4

you forgot flood firefight and odst mod tools, they also mentioned halo 2 anniversary mod tools.

I’d like to add two things to your list that’d make MCC perfect:

  1. A massive increase in the private file limit across the board

  2. The ability to remove barriers as a setting for both Forge and Custom games in every game

I’m just hoping the need for goodwill pushes them to update and restore more content.

I’d love for Halo Reach to get a Firefight update, H2A and Halo 4 to get more cut and missing content restored, Halo 3 to get the remaining BTB H:O maps and more, and Certain Affinity to finish and release that rumored Blastacular Map for Halo 2 alongside the Silenced SMG.

I’m also hoping they restore Stealth Elite enemies for ODST wave settings, and Spec-Ops Grunt allies for floodfight.

I’m pretty much constantly hyped over MCC. It’s honestly a timeless product that doesn’t age (might even increase in significance as time goes on), so any resources 343i puts into the product is a great long term investment. Personally, I’d love the remaining H:O maps to be ported into H3, as well as completion of any of the partially finished cut content.

Don’t forget about split-screen for PC.

ah yes. the holy grail of missing features on the pc version.

Above all else, steam workshop is a must. That alone will carry the game on for decades

Yeah, the game needs a way to load custom maps without replacing them in the menus, it’s crazy that they released the mod tools but no proper way to load maps in the game…

I’m super excited for MCC yeah. Honestly, if @343 would add custom control mapping for controllers I’d play MCC like every day.

I’m A) super-happy that this new update is putting the beloved Bandana Skul in H3 and ODST, and B) hoping and praying that they add it to H4 and Reach in the future (even though no mention of such was made in today’s “Update on Halo MCC” article…)

since they didn’t add this: I’m really hoping they restore Stealth Elites and Spec Ops Elite Patrols in the future

It’s 2 successors aren’t doing much better

It’s incredible. Halo: Infinite isn’t even half a year old yet and I’m already more excited for the MCC again, something that is 7 and 1/2 years old.

I honestly just want the ability to remove barriers in Forge and Custom Games, no holds barred Forge World would be incredible, as well as a private file limit increase, 50 maps for 4 games is stupidly small.

Generally unhappy with how the tools themselves are treated as a taboo topic by these update logs.
As a newcomer to mod content development, why should I be excited for these tool kits when the team behind them won’t even document, discuss or produce video content on them?

Would love to see the rest of the campaigns get crossplay treatment as well.
2 games is a start, but we need more!

Yes! I was pleasantly surprised to see campaign crossplay for 3 and ODST in today’s update! I had kinda resigned myself to thinking it was never gonna happen. Hopefully the other 4 games get that treatment in the near future. I’d love to be able to get some of my old Xbox Live friends to load up MCC again and do some co-op, since it’s been years since we’d last done that. 343 has really done well with MCC these last couple of years.
