I know I was almost dead set on buying Halo 5 a couple days after launch just to make sure everything ran properly after MCC… but as a Halo fan for over a decade I couldn’t do it and I pre-ordered Halo 5 a week ago. So what, if something is broken with it I’ll just live with it and play what isn’t broken! Long live Halo.
That’s the spirit.
Playing a game on day one is a risk especially the online part. From that view as long as you understand that then it’s fine besides, someone has to find out if it’s working
Preordered as soon as I could. Ages ago. Hopefully it runs a little more smoothly than MCC.
Weeks? Lol. I pre-ordered the LCE as soon as it was possible. Eventually downgraded to the CE.
I don’t pre-order games often, but I know I’m picking up Halo regardless of it working or not on launch and don’t mind waiting for it to get fixed. The campaign alone is worth $60 for me, so no dilemma.
Besides, the unique challenges of MCC and it’s obvious differences from H5 makes it a poor indicator of how H5 will launch. And no one has been able to convince me that pre-orders enable shoddy launches.
I have already preordered and downloaded my digital copy. Trust me after the fiasco with MCC at launch they will make sure this one is buttery smooth. Plus after all the hype and the live event the day before they wouldn’t dare mess up this launch for us.
Haven’t preordered, getting the game for free.

What live event? The day before launch?
Halo MCC had no effect on my pre-ordering decisions for Halo 5. 1) MCC was not done by 343 and 2) despite all the problems with MCC, I still rather enjoyed it. I actually felt grateful for MCC. Yeah, it suffered from LOTS of issues, but classic Halo would still be just a memory if not for Halo MCC.
The Halo 5 beta sold me on Halo 5. In a lot of ways, the Halo 5 beta ruined my MCC experience, because after playing the beta, classic Halo actually felt old and slow to me.
I checked the website for weeks until i saw the game was ready for preorder. I’ve had it since then.
Yeah, I’m just extremely excited now. I bought the Collectors edition for the REQ bundle and for the Fall of Reach obviously.
I caved in as soon as digital was available. I’ve played all the Halo games, whether it had a bad launch or was a bad game.
I caved super early, the LCE was just too good to pass up, love me some halo statues
yeah they got me with all the trailers the hype was too much and I bought it lol it’s all good though because I got the fall of reach and that set of premium req packs.
super excited for this game!
I caved months ago for the standard, but the trailers and everything coming out now had me cave and change to LCE, and I’ve also grabbed the Chief Controller.
I ‘gave in’ a very long time ago, for that sweet sweet LCE.
Didn’t pre-order H5 because of MCC.
Will not buy H5 new because of lack of splitscreen.
That’s my decision. 343 do not deserve my money.
I caved in about a month ago XD I usually stick by not pre-ordering games but I couldn’t resist.

Could not agree more on everything said
