Don’t get me wrong, this game is really good. I really want to thank 343 for giving it the fast pace feel. This game feels very competitive and i am a very happy camper because of that.
I am currently SR 23, but i am kind of bored of playing this game already. Yes it is competitive and everything but the game types aren’t really that fun. The only good game type is Team Slayer Pro. Very competitive, close games, but there is not just point in winning.
Where are all the fun game types like SWAT or Team Snipers? Even with them i can see myself getting bored. There is just no point in winning, you get absolutely nothing. I am a “casual” but i gotta say, without rank this game gets boring fast.
Me and my friends aren’t really SERIOUS gamers, we’re casuals that play for fun. But i can speak for all of us when i say this game is boring without something to play for… which is the rank.
Forgot to add: How come there is such a small amount of maps in each game type? I constantly feel like i am playing the same 3 maps over and over and over again. It already sucks that this SR rank doesn’t make me want to play more… to add to that playing the same 2-3 maps over and over gets quite boring. I feel like the other halos had such a variety of maps/game types.
I got to SR-30 within a day and it is kinda eh now. I miss having Team Snipers/ Team Swat with rank, the playlists now suck really bad. And the small choices of maps… ugh
I am kinda really Spartan Ops is beginning to bore the crap out of me they should have made it longer like Firefight but they didn’t. For Matchmaking I’m not gonna play it. I’ll play custom games and Forge that’s about it besides Spartan Ops. I already beaten campaign. I’m back on playing Reach cause I miss how the Covenant talk and look at least on here they talk better and look cooler.
I feel the same way, snipers and swat were never really my thing but I did enjoy the variety of objective based games in reach BTB and immensely enjoyed invasion. I really have no options for game types any more… Played regicide - it’s not bad but it’s not my type of game. Might try to get into dominion but again didn’t really fill the void from lack of invasion.
So my options are team slayer, team slayer, team slayer oh lets take a break and play infection.
I really hope they add some good gametypes, but I don’t like how adding more content later is a norm. A game should have all this at launch which i commend reach for it had a large variety of game types AT launch.

This is a valid question, but in general I am optimistic.
Issue 1: lack of maps
Solution: more Forge maps should be coming soon, then the map packs for Dec / Feb / Apr.
Issue 2: Game types
Solution: more playlists should be coming soon, like SWAT, team snipers, Grifball, etc.
Issue 3: Variety of game play
Solution:
Play different playlists, alternate between kill-focused vs. objective-focused, weapon focused vs. vehicle focused, classed based experience vs. arena shooter experience (i.e.: Slayer Pro) etc
Complete weapon challenges to get yourself into all weapons
Experiment with different AAs and armor mods (which would motivate you to get through specializations first)
These ought to keep you playing until CSR is out, after which you can focus on road to CSR 50 (if you have the ability to get there)
If none of these would work out for you, you can also bounce back and forth between Halo and CoD by picking up BO2…
It seems as if a lot of people feel the same way about this issue. I really hope they add maps/playlists/rank to compensate for this lack of entertainment that this game provides right now.

Etc
I believe these will be implemented in the near future, just have some patience. The game isn’t 100% ready yet.
Unfortunately 343i decided to limit the game during launch. I’m not sure why, but they did. I love the gameplay; it’s really incredible, but I am with you, I see myself getting bored quickly. There isn’t a lot of push to play over and over again. Part of that is no ranks, part of that is the lack of variety.
Well, I’m already bored of the Campaign. Don’t get me wrong, the whole Cortana/Chief thing is pretty well-written, except for the end where it’s just Deus Ex Machina galore. I mean, the level design is so mediocre in Halo 4. Halo 4 is making the same mistake 3 made where it just tossed dozens of enemies and a handful of Wraith tanks at you with very little cover and no other way to take on the situation. Unlike Halo: Reach or Halo 3:ODST, I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this campaign, except for the achievements.

I hope you are right. And i hope 343 pays attention to our feedback on this. This is quite an issue right now. I am not sure if there are threads on this already but i hope people speak up.
Also why did they change the waypoint forum look? I can’t see any details about the threads or anything. And it takes like 10 minutes to load each page…

what do you expect? haven is obviously the best 4v4 map in halo 4, of course people are going to vote for haven.
