Like they had a lot of opportunity to provide content.
For example, Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 4 share the same engine beat-for-beat. So they could’ve easily made it so that players could’ve had access to both Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary armor in their games, AS WELL AS THIER MAPS ROSTER. Imagine playing H2A on Haven or Halo 4 on Relic?
And what of the Halo 5 Armory? SURE a lot of the content in it was terrible designs that people hated. But there were plenty of good armor designs that could’ve been modified to fit better in Halo 4’s engine. And what of the Halo 2 Anniversary ODST helmet from the Campaign? Or the cut Hayabusa armor and other cut assets that were fully modeled in Halo 4 but never used?
it bugs me to no end, especially since there was more than enough content to fill two more seasons.
there was at least 2 more original maps as well as 7 more sets of unreleased armor for Halo 3 from H:O, they could have also ported over the rest of the H:O Elite armor and the Fireteam Raven version of the Mark V armor
H2A had unreleased skins and armor, Forge content like Vehicles and Equipment, and content they could have hopefully ported over from Halo 4.
as an aside: if there is one thing from Halo 5 that aggravates me to no end, it’s that the Mark VI Gen 1 has the right Waist and Torso armor while everything else is wrong on it, meanwhile the H2A Mark VI has everything right on it, EXCEPT for the Waist and Torso. add that to the fact it’s also the game that has the right H2A Beam Rifle model, while H2A Multiplayer recycles the Halo 4 model, and it cuts deep.
I’m only annoyed at the lie itself. I prefer these new updates that focus on fixes and features. I’ll never forget Season 5 being all cosmetics and, like, 1 minor fix.
They’ve already announced that more content besides bug fixes will be arriving in 2022. Whatever content they had already planned will get released. Even if we still followed the seasonal release model I doubt we would have seen Season 9 this month.
Direct quote from the September Update
As we think about the future, we’ve had a lot of conversations around how to best support MCC once Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer is up and running. We’ve agreed on two key points: One, we have more MCC work to do and support will continue ; and two, as a studio it’s not ideal to run and continue shipping seasonal updates for two different multiplayer titles concurrently. So, while we very much have more updates coming – including more content, fixes, and features – the manner in which they are delivered is expected to shift. Starting next year, we’re targeting pivoting away from our current seasonal model and cadence to instead focus on smaller MCC updates that can land when they’re ready based on development status and studio roadmap alignment. These updates will continue to be free and will include the unreleased features and content from this year – as well as a continued effort to improve stability and tackle legacy fixes where possible. We still have a lot of goodness to deliver in 2022.
More content is on the way, can we please stop moping about a situation that isn’t true.
It annoys me to no end as well. And honestly? I don’t believe it for a minute, MCC is the go-to Halo game for people who want the FULL Halo experience, it’s a safety net for Infinite’s failures, and MCC is regaining quite a few players from Infinite due to said failures.
My guess is when Infinite bleeds enough players, 343 will start updating MCC again.
Just because we’re not getting Seasons 9 and 10 doesn’t mean we’re not getting the content - it just makes no sense for 343 to have two games with active live service provisions at once to split population
Rendered by Liquid Development, the guys who made the models for the Halo 4 Armors.
The armor was scrapped likely because Team Ninja and 343 couldn’t collab like they could before, which would explain why the armor didn’t make a return in Halo 5.
Kinda annoyed that they didn’t rename it to something like “Ninja” or “Assassin” or “Honor Guard” and then add it in anyway.
I am disappointed that there’s no more seasons, but 343 has stated that they still plan on adding more content. It’s just the “seasonal model” that’s been discontinued. So we could very well still see a lot of these requests.
Aren’t you the one that said this is a 10-year-plan?
You might want to keep that in mind knowing how content is going to be drip-fed very slowly, and I wonder if I even dare say why. Not that most of us don’t know why, but it’s a pretty low move on 343’s behalf.
Halo Infinite is the one with the 10 Year Plan. MCC was supposed to be ten seasons, but then they cut it down to 8 and now they are slowly adding content to both MCC and Infinite… very slowly. And I only just now found out that they are still going to add content to MCC, though in small snippits and dropped the seasons model.
entirely mcc is one of those promised “rerelease that ADDS so much more!” that is just added slower than middle class families get trickle down economics, too slow
like mcc i feel like has so much potential but it falls into “devs got pulled away and team lead has very little vision for it” because all of the menus for in game act as if they are forced to into a separate menu for each press and the entire thing is just boiled down basic corporate design of “make it a really really long line”
take the game browser for example, it has terrible functionality on controller and takes an eternity to have a button pressed on the top bar, also the fact its worse than source engines browser really hits home how lacking all of it feels
Not annoyed and actually not all that surprised with the Infinite launch being when it was. But I think if enough players come back to MCC they may have another season or two. We are supposed to get flood fire fight aren’t we? Hopefully players come back. I am just about over Infinite already. All I have left campaign wise is go collect a few skulls and UNSC audio logs. I am on level 91 in the battle pass so will probably finish it up and then just stick with MCC. MCC is the more fun game over all.
Im just asking for more contents to be un-scrapped.
Infiltrator Armor Gauntlets

Gungnir Gauntlets
Soldier Gauntlets / Legs
Recon Legs
Ranger Legs
Protector Legs
Hayabusa Armor + Legs
Locus Helmet alt. paintjob skin
Cut Weapon Skins
Plus if they edited the models of some of the Armor Sets of Halo 5, we could’ve seen Halo 4 / Halo 2 Anniversary receive the good Halo 5 armor sets like -
Achilles
Anubis
Argonaut
Argus
Buccaneer
Centurion
Copperhead
Decimator
Helioskrill
Hellcat
Helljumper
Hermes
Hunter
Icarus
Indomitable
Interceptor
Intruder
Mako
Mark IV
Mark V Alpha
Mark VI Scarred
Mythic (Master Chief’s armor from Halo 4 and Halo 5 - the “Mark VI MOD”)
Nightfall
Nightfall Beta
Noble
Olive Helmet
Reaper
Recluse
Security
Shinobi
Technician
Timmy Helmet
Viper
Vigilant
Wrath
The 9 Gen-1 Helmets
Any of the above would work well within the Engine and art style of Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 4’s multiplayer.
