Anyone else already sick of infinite's cosmetics?

I want my Leadbelcher helmet to have Cat Ears.:grin::grin::grin:

I’m sick of not having time to enjoy my cosmetics! I don’t have much time to game these days, and it’s hard to keep buying cosmetics when I don’t have time to enjoy them.

I love the cyberpunk, the cat ears, the samurai, and the eventual dragon head pauldrons. If someone is more motivated to fight me in a game because of my looks, all the better! I love seeing everyone’s equipment, whether or not I’ll wear it myself.

None of the armors look lethal enough to me. Some get close, but there’s no kit that screams “Im going to kill you, your entire squad, your family, your extended family, most of your government and probably call in a NOVA strike on your planet when Im done because otherwise I’d have to come back and finish the job and another xeno/Insurrectionist filled planned demands my lethal attention and I only have so much time in the day”.

Rakshasa’s a good start but I want to be able to wear both knives on the chest instead of just one.

Just go play Skyrim and spawn in daedric armor lmao Halo has never had edgy “lethal” armor

So you want an armor set that screams “war crimes”?

Seems a bit extreme.

Perhaps. But Spartans have always canonically been war crimes, at least until the S-IVs rolled out.
The IIs and IIIs were technically civilian ones too (kidnapping in the first, second are literally child soldiers).
I figure, why try and hide that fact from the foes you’ll be fighting? The Banished wont care and the Created are…apparently not a thing anymore? To my annoyance, since the gear on Rakshasa makes it sound like fighting them is intense and Metal Gear-like.

It’s very clear to me that they wanted the cores to have a “look.” This is less apparent with Mark 5B and 7, but is extremely apparent with Lone Wolves’ Core (I hate it’s name).

7 and 5B both look like classical Halo armor sets (7 a little more futuristic than we’re used to), but Lone Wolves just looks bizarre next to it on close inspection.

I love Halo Infinite’s expansion of their armor designs. One of the Rakshasa helmets looks like it was inspired by an imagined Tatooine scout trooper. I also love the concept of continuously expanding the number of armor cores available. Building a collection of various styles, textures, colors. Not to mention it looks great with the physical based rendering it’s using. The cloth wraps around the cold metal helmets. Sharp visor colors. And if you want to talk about maps, Streets visually is very impressive with the range of colors it’s using. The sharper sleeker labs against the gritty concrete and storefronts plastered with signage and graffiti. Take a look at all those small details, there’s a lot to love about this game visually, especially for science fiction fans familiar with other games, movies, etc.

What, you don’t like bulky, gray attachments? Or kidney infection colored shaders?

Interesting. No worries. 343 is listening!

Streets is really uninspired. Just a generic sci-fi ish city cut out. And of course its 3 lanes because 343 forgot how to do any other type of map i guess.

Goofy stuff has been in halo since halo 3 and its samurai armor which i hope makes a comeback

We had armor effects in halo reach with floating hearts, plague gas and lightning clouds coming off your spartan.

MCC had some weird armors to full gladiator and viking stuff

Honestly wish halo infinite had a little less armor effects or at least make them earnable and harder to get just make them a little more scarce in my opinion i dont use them myself its fine ill probably wear one when i find something that fits my spartan going for a prototype look with sizzling coral shader need more armors though.

Like once cross core comes around spartans will be alot cooler like yes there will be weird combination but thats their spartan if they wanna rock it let them doesn’t effect me.

As long as normal halo armor outnumbers the goofy stuff itll be ok just need a balance of both like id love a lobby of badass reach spartans like back then the combinations were really cool

The Aesthetic Identity of the game is pretty bad.

343i gave up on the “High Tech Power armor” thing for the most part it would seem.

Which is… really sucks,
The Appeal for a lot of people was that Spartans DIDN’T Looks like Generic trashy Call of Duty soldiers with random bits of Velcro and metal strapped to them.

The Spartan armors were slick and industrial, you were a walking tank.
You were strapped with Metals parts that looked like they are Pelican grade armoring.

Its just kinda sad.
I didn’t bother with anything outside of the Classic style armor,

The Yoroi was always awful.
Its just an unbelievably ugly armor. Not even futuristic, just plain ugly.
The Rakshasa armor is… nice. But it also looks like it was put together by an Edgelord. Reminds me alot of Storm Troopers armor.

And the Eaglestrike?
Dead, no content for it.
And it rips its entire identity from Killzone baddies.

The worst part of everything is,
All the color options are bad. The Coating system stripped all the crazy color options we could have had.

Unrelated to this,
I’m seeing post about things unrelated to the topic.
“I can still play the game so it doesn’t matter”.

Like, my dudes.
Why are you even commenting on this post then?

ITs great that you have an opinion, doesn’t mean it’s relevant, or that it matters in this context.
You’re just being unreliably annoying while derailing the conversation.

Hopefully forgers can Fix the map.

With some well placed props are Barriers the map could heavily be improved.

Turning the courtyard into an isolated combat zone by blocking off the Lobby front door,
Closing the windows on either side of the center lane.
Adding some Cover and Line of sight blockers to the side lanes.

I don’t know about this take.

Streets is really REALLY uninspired.
It doesn’t even look remotely like any of the Iconic locations you fight through in Halo.
It has no continuity in relation to the series in anyway, which is just a MASSIVE waste of design potential.

They could have modeled it after New Mombasa,
It could have been like one of the Outer colonies mini cities like in 5.

The Details are nice and all, but like…
There is Zero love for the games history in it. Its a nice LOOKING map, and that is ALL it is.
All visual and zero heart.

This and the fact they keep using that excuse for the removal of playable elites and we get another co op filled with clones

Like unless we actually get to play co op as our mp spartans or we actually see them in the story i only see that excuse as a lie

ESPECIALLY when they are giving us more goofy cosmetics

Like i love goofy cosmetics but its gotta stop now if you seriously consider mp canon

I like the new options, but it would be great if 343 implemented a “classic mode” where only basic armors show, similar to mcc.

Yeah, I somewhat previously defended the decision as that there isn’t really a player 1 so you can’t choose who to be chief.
After playing some of the flight (after digging up my old Xbox One S because I didn’t get a PC code cause I’m on Windows Store.) they totally could have had the multiplayer spartans in the game. And the “master chief story” issue could have been solved if they just didn’t acknowledge the MP spartans. Or if they really wanted to write them in, let them be prisoners on the banished ship at the start as a side-objective. Right there in the hanger. Also be a mini-tutorial for helping squads.

And they could say “but your spartan is in two places at once” Well, with coatings and armor being standardized like it is, who’s to say there isn’t a Spartan that shares the same looking armor as the MP spartan? I already see many people with similar armor as mine. Heck with armor kits we can straight up rip-off other canon spartans.

There was no excuse except maybe time. But plenty of modders have already pasted the MP armors into the game.

All they have to do is say co op isn’t canon and presto no need to have chief clones because of the logic chief was the only spartan around that was alive in the campaign

It must be rough not enjoy much of any of the armors.

Yoroi’s naturally unlockable colors are pretty drab, but the aor is beautiful with the right ones. My bro bought the black+purple cyberpunk and the iron man colors which look great. I always use the HCS skin from somonths ago (that’s also the only color I like on Mark V).

I’m not a fan of any Eaglestrike armor pieces. I’d wear it with a couple colors, but those couple were only purchasable and out ofy price range.

I love a lot of the Rakshasa’s armors that come lvl 50-100. Especially the tubes for some reason.

Big difference between that and 343’s way. A few things here and there that give you something to work for is one thing, 343 are actively adding this kind of thing in and will continue to do so. 3 and reach still looked like a halo game, a lot of the stuff in infinite at this point does not.
