I agree that if I had to pick I would MUCH rather the smoothest gameplay possible over cosmetics
If I remember correctly, 343 said Cross-core is only going to be for the canon cores. But the fractures cores (Eagle strike (WWII) and Tenrai (Samurai)) will not be included with cross core. That way the actual Halo aesthetic still holds up.
I wish there was a way to turn off the bright flashy stuff like armor and kill effects though, like a toggle.
I’m fine with all of the armor that’s been showcased in Halo Infinite. But the gross amount of paywall locks and lack of complete cross core customization are the more frustrating things IMO.
I think what they said is that the canon codes will be priority, fracture cores will release whenever they feel it’s ready

I’m fine with really whatever anyone wants. Let’s take a game where fashion can take a truly horrific turn
Warframe. If anyone here doesn’t know what an “Atlas” is check it out. I’ve seen one with pink green and blue colors and butterfly wings with a horrid sparkly ephemera lay smack down on saves of enemies.
It’s as horrific as it is beautiful.
As far as MP Spartans being canon I’ve argued this is a such a multi dimensional sword. One one hand you have this case of God awful Spartan amalgamations that the community has base against because “Why are canon Spartans training and operating in non canon cores?”
Thier answer? Money, limiting of Elites, and a few story reasons. But why if we just die between games?
Honestly the horrific armor combination don’t really bother me, I might do one myself.
What kills me the most is our coatings. If they focused on releasing materials, patterns and color pallets we earn/buy from a store catalog like reach (cuz let’s be honest the store is garbage.) It’s help a lot with customization.

People like to wear colors and goofy cosmetics in pretty much any game and Halo’s no exception. It’s not about you. It’s time to put on your big kid pants.

Yeah the game was advertised as a return to form for halo from the art style to the gameplay, it would be pretty cool if they actually did that.
I can say the same thing to you. Not everyone likes your low effort over-priced cat ear/mohawk cosmetics so put on your big kid pants and move on.

I don’t sit here and whine about other people ruining my game by doing something harmless that literally doesn’t affect me lmao I only whine about the whiners 
And I already have my big kid outfit on - bleached bone and zvezda with cat ears because I’m allowed to treat myself and wear what I want~
(ps. the mohawk was an attrition event unlock along with the neon screen and electric pink AR and armor coatings. Those were free and oh so delightful

I know halo has always had some of that kind of stuff, its the volume of it that bothers me. Theyre clearly trying to make this a skinnerbox, but they could easily still do that while largely sticking to the classic halo style. Instead they’re forgetting about nearly all the classic armors for (imo) too many goofy options, and weird mixes of spartans with other warriors.

I quite like a lot of the cosmetics personally. I love the Samurai armor and there are lots of good Mark VII and Rakshasa pieces. I don’t personally care for the look of any of the Eaglestrike core pieces, but I’m not upset seeing other people wearing them. I think now in Season 2 there have been enough free and store customization options to get a lot of variety of looks of spartans in the multiplayer.
I’m not sick of the cosmetics.
I am disappointed that they are being drip-fed into the game instead of letting us a full catalog shop like how R6 Siege does it.
Like, why did 343 copy Fortnite’s model of monetization?
- Free-to-play PvP experience
- Full-Price PvE story mode
- Weekly rotating shop items that are over-priced and repeat way too often.

We are getting holographic rabbit ears in an Easter Event that is happening 6 months after Easter thanks to the Season delays.
They had dollar signs in their eyes. Too many game developers look at successful titles like LoL and Fortnite, and think they can do the same.

Yeah, but to be fair; had Halo Infinite been a much more complete package, would such a business decision come about?
Because as it stands right now, most of the Halo audience is playing Halo MCC.
Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2 are below MCC’s likely player count.
So when most of your player base is on another game, one you can update changes into, a smart business move is to move the market to where the people are.
Ergo.
