it ain’t doa. but it will be in a couple moons if nothing changes.
good gameplay can only take a game so far. it being f2p can make it last longer… but a lot of the player base will probably have already dropped it within those 6 moons. look at the steam charts.
whiles it doesn’t include xbox players, steam is a big platform for games. so if players are slowly dropping there, then it’s probably the same for console players. especially since console players can’t disable crossplay
If you play the hell out of infinite multiplayer then get burned out, I recommend take a break and wait for updates. This Tuesday I think we’re getting swat, fiesta, and slayer.
Same here, uninstalled Infinite and went back to D2
What’s more excited Ng is we get to possibly buy the exact same color we already have but for a different Armor core…
So exciting.
Only thing that’s burning me out is the bad connections over this past week for BTB.
BTB is my life.
Yes.
Also, here’s 20 characters.
That’s exactly what I was saying. Not providing more after the “beta” (or what would have made more sense, limiting what we know is available now like they did on the flights) and no patch on release hurt themselves. And considering the next large-scale content drop is in 6 months until otherwise stated, then the game won’t have much of a population. Even less in 9 once forge drops.
I was expecting Easy Anti-Cheat for PC to come at launch and the “beta” was so the team can track the cheaters and stone-wall them. Its what Microsoft always used for everything else. Its weird the game doesn’t have it at all by now.
That’s just it, genuinely I want to play more. Halo is my 2nd favorite franchise (used to be #1 until Doom 2016 and Eternal usurped that position) but Halo Infinite doesn’t have more for me to play. I would love to do some custom games with friends to make up for the official lack, but custom game menu is broken!
If this game doesn’t have new content and soon and consistently, it will be dead in 3 months. Right now even with slayer being introduced (You still won’t be able to choose to play just slayer), it does not have enough content to survive the long term.
No I still like to play it
yeah, like… they shouldn’t have even bothered calling it a ‘beta’. it was just a early launch at this point. we have to wait a couple of days for sodding playlists to be added… individual playlists… i wonder if they’l impliment a anti-cheat before the new season. or if they’l wait the full 6 moons to get details on said cheats and then give a enti-cheat, like you were saying… but either way, both outcomes are bad. if they rush it, the anti-cheat could make false possitives. or if they take their time… most of the players would’ve already left because of said cheaters. honestly it just really seems like 343 shot themselves in the foot here
I’m getting burnt out at trying to get the game to even work in the first place. BTB still isn’t fixed.
People play games to get better and grind their skill. Look at fighting Games? I’m sorry you need the dopamine rush xp grinding gives you. I too enjoy seeing number go up, but grinding map knowledge, weapon handling, skill jumps, equipment usage and overall sandbox tinkering has been a large part of what makes Halo and gaming fun in the first place. Don’t try to squash others fun just because you failed to have any
Cheaters are still pretty bad. Also the fact that console has little to no desync while pc has tons makes it seem like console players are way better than they are
The campaign so far lacks any particularly memorable moments. I’m near the end now, playing with a friend. We both agree that, its not on the level of any of the bungie era games. Except for Chief, the characters just aren’t compelling enough to care. Like I’d say Halo wars 2 so far has a better campaign than Halo infinite does. Its repetitive, the open world is conceptually interesting but falls flat overall(and its optimization is terrible), there’s a lot of copy paste missions, and feels generally like it could’ve used Another year in development.
The multiplayer doesn’t have enough content for long term F2P market I’d say and its going up against some firmly established games with larger communities behind them than halo has. Forge would’ve probably fixed this problem to an extent but its delayed +9 months. Honestly the game in the F2P market might be dead by then with how the game market works.
My burnout will be rectified on Tuesday. I’ve just gotten tired of the constant mix of different game modes, and will be happy to start getting game mode dedicated playlists back. If I wanted to play a mix of modes I’d go load up action sack on MCC.
Well when they give only playlists meant for teams its frustrating playing alone. Not sure why FFA, and Doubles weren’t released at launch.
Playing the same. Yoinking. Objectives. On the same. Yoinking. Maps. Over. And over. And over. And over. Sucks the life out of it. More maps and modes will do wonders for mp. Thank god more playlists are coming. The map selection is probably the worst in the series imo.
So far, yes. I already lost interest due to how progression works, lack of maps, and game modes. Specially for BTB current maps are so unbalanced its not even funny
I wouldn’t say I’m burnt out but my interest in multiplayer is definitely waning and for many of the reasons you describe. The modes are tiresome but the bigger issue, for me at least, is that the maps have become boring, predictable. The designs of some of them just blur together. Streets and Aquarius are functionally the same map, just with different architecture. I can’t bring myself to go back into BTB because the maps have become so stale.
The amount of maps this launched with is pretty abysmal. I know someone will like defend it by saying “game X launched with a fewer number of maps!” but is it so much to ask them to iterate on what they’ve done before not just release something comparable to years old titles? There really should have been at least twice as many maps as launch as there are. Or at least 1.5x as many. I’m reminded when Unreal Tournament 2004 launched and it had something like 27 maps out of the box to support all of their game modes. Halo is an arena shooter like UT and if it wants to survive in the F2P, non-Battle Royale market, it needs a LOT more maps than what it currently offers.
I used to play several matches a day, then it was a few matches a day, but now it’s a few matches every couple of days.
Edit: I haven’t had my coffee yet so my brain isn’t fully functional and thus I forget the name of the horde-like mode that was in Halo Reach. I really wish something like that existed in Infinite as a way to break the monotony with PvP multiplayer. If that existed here, I’d probably play a lot more often.
