Anyone doing Halo CE or Halo 2A LASO playlists or sharing checkpoints in those playlists?
I came to these forums looking for LASO advice as a buddy and I just had a connection failed error and lost four hours of progress.
It’s unbelievably hard, especially with co-op input lag.

That’s exactly where we got stuck on. After clearing the first room and killing the hunters on the ship, we got a connection error… Mind you, by then ammo supply was at critical.
I can’t find any helpful guides or anything for the Chief Collection version of LASO.
I was able to beat the first level of CE on LASO co-op after numerous connection quits. The 2nd level is just too long to make it before another connection glitch shuts it down.

I cant even get past the 1st room they need to turn bandanna on or something because it is almost impossible with the very little ammo on the ground

Yeah that stinks bro, i have been lucky enough to not get connection errors and able to make it through levels.

I’m gonna try to help share some strategies that I used on this mission and hopefully you’ll find them helpful. I spent more than 10 hours in that room trying to firefight my way out before finding the secret.
- Obviously, do on co-op
- Save as much sniper ammo as you can before boarding the ship. There is ammo back at the first health pack which can top you off.
- As soon as you enter the ship, listen carefully for which door the first camo elite is going to come out of. As soon as he exits the door, kill him with a sniper headshot or two body shots and GO INSIDE THE DOOR HE CAME OUT OF BEFORE IT CLOSES.
- Bring your partner in there with you and go all the way to the back of the tunnel, either to the left or right, but away from the door that bisects the two hallways.
- Sit in the back tunnel for about 3-5 minutes, however long it is, until you hear the music cue. Enemies will keep on flooding out into the main room through the other 3 doors but will not come from the door that you went through. The enemies will also not chase you up this tunnel if they don’t have vision of you.
- After the music cues and enemies stop coming out, peak out of the door with your rifle and snipe the grunts in the head. They will likely be standing still so headshotting them will be easy. Because Grunt Funeral and Boom skulls are on, they will blow up the entire room and set off a chain reaction that will kill, or at least weaken, the elites.
- If any enemies remain, peak out and snipe them.
- Note that you will always get a checkpoint as soon as the room is cleared and before the two Hunters come out. If you did not get a checkpoint yet, there are still enemies, likely hiding behind a box so be extra careful.
- If you have at least one clip of sniper left, two shots with the Recession skull, just snipe the Hunters in the back. Some people don’t know this but on any difficulty, Hunters will die to one sniper or pistol round in the back.
- After you kill the Hunters, pick up the camo and head through the halls to the next room.
It really is that easy. When you’re playing LASO, always be on the lookout for a shortcut. If there are any skips, such as those on AotCR or Keyes, do them. You don’t always have to play the mission the way Bungie designed the game to be played. Hope this helped you a little bit.
I’m doing LASO as well, just did this mission (truth and reconciliation) day before yesterday. I expected this room would take me forever, but it was actually one of the most easiest parts in the game, just like the part where you go up the elevator. You just have to use the games AI in a smart way! Meaning that, like Arsenal sais, get back in a tunnel as soon as you can, wait for all the enimies to be spawned and set on an a chain reaction of grunts exploding. Any yellow elite coming on to you shouldnt be a problem as you are with two gys in the same tunnel. Offcourse you need to be extremely cautious with him, but still doable. Take the tunnel entrance that is next to the healthpack/cammo (so run in as soon as enemies come through there, and run all the way to where you have to go after you have cleared the room). We saved the cammo for later, but when all grunts are shot you could also take the cammo to backdash any remaining yellow sword guys in there. Note to add: aim for the orange ‘fleshy’ part at the hunters back. Actually also possible to shoot him from the front when he raises his arm to beat you.
With the part before this room; where you have tons of waves of enemies coming down the elevator. As soon as a wave of enemies is coming down the elevator (that is when only 1 enemy in that area is still alive) attract them and run back to the cave/tunnel where you entered this erea (where you see all the grunts sleeping) and do the same: with one grunt headshot cause a chain reaction. ALL the enemies will stay behind that L-shaped stone which also provides cover while you are giving that grunt a headshot.
More tips for this mission:
- Be really carefull with picking up sniper ammo, only pick up ammo when you have totally none ammo left in your backpack/when you are totally empty. If you take only 10 shots (so actually only 5)) for example the whole ammo pack will disappear from the ground.
- Party or game chat is broken often, use the Skype app to communicate if it breaks during the game.
- Snipe (unaware) red elites on countdown together. Red elites take 2 headshots, but if one lands on their body its really hard to get the last one as there is no autoaim and they get really jumpy.
- It is not nescarry to kill all of the enemies. Especially usefull when you go running threw the terminals on the second and third level.
- Leaving a coop a little behind can sometimes despawn enemies.
- When running on the second and third level of the terminal (to tunnel entrances leading upstairs), bash your way along. No need to kill all the enemies.
This one took us 6 hours and together 400 deaths =)
Half of those deaths are HUD elements and desperation deaths, meaning that we killed ourself when we couldnt see the the reticle or just killed each other messing around after a teammate messed up.
If we would do it again we could do it in less then 2 hours as it was a lot of figuring out the spawns, loading points and messed up checkpoints.
PS. I am joining his playlist, so maybe I need to do it again as the achievement might not unlock. Please add me if you would like to join me while running the playlist after I finished this one. So that you can learn how to do it, get me the achievement and do it later with a friend to get it yourself.
I dont think I would mind doing it for the 3rd time, but Im not going to do the whole playlist 2 times and not get the achievement and nameplate for it
I’m looking to join up with someone on the H2A LASO Playlist. I’ve got a CP on Cairo station to share- at least you get to skip the Armory!!
