Anyone at 343, please watch this...

So the response to fan crit has generally been “sweep it under the rug and hope it goes away” in terms of what 343 has done. Sure they have given us Forge Island, and done some weapon tuning, but it all feels very half -Yoinked!-, and still doesn’t make Halo 4 feel like a Halo game…

Well…what happens when a big video games website is suggesting these changes as well?

GT’s What we want from Halo

Though the video is still very broad, it’s nice to get a sense that other factions of the gaming community think the same.

I agree with everything except… “Keep the story simple”? Really? Ugh. What a brilliant idea! Dumb down the plot even more! No wonder they barely showed the Halo 2 Campaign; apparently they don’t appreciate a good story. Halo 4’s ingame story was so simple it was insulting. I think that the plot should be contained within the games, but by no means simple, as in Halo 2 (best Campaign of the series in my opinion, especially in terms of plot).

I’d love to see a Far Cry-esque map editor in Halo 5, along with Halo 3 custom games and an actual custom games browser. 343i needs to properly engage with the community and give us the tools to play Halo how we want to play it.

I wouldn’t really call Halo 4’s Campaign story “simple”. It has many layers to it, it’s just they’ve been left a little in the dark so they can cover that stuff in later games also. Also, why does everyone treat Halo 2’s campaign so amazingly? It’s campaign was incredibly linear. Halo 4 felt more like Halo CE to me, which is what it SHOULD feel like. HCE was probably the best Halo in terms of Campaign.

I am two minutes into the video and agree with the first point.

  • Halo 4’s weapons sandbox constists of only reskinned weapons. (Yes).

Yeah, I agree with you there Lehnau, the story picked up in 2 and was really great, but everything since has kind of lacked.
