I’m fortunate enough that one of my favorite coatings is a Promo, Northwest Sky Mark VII Armor Coating specifically. So I don’t really see it that much in game at all.
It’s a little bright, and wish the detailing was a bit more interesting. But I’ve always liked Blue and Yellow coloring since the days of Quake, where you could customize your pants and shirt coloring. The coating is also very clean as well.
My Mark VII Spartan is as unique as I can make him with the Celox helmet and Tahuna Sands coating. We’ll probably see a wider array of unique looking Spartans after the Winter Update on November 8th, which hopefully will bring cross-core coatings along with the new armor.
If we get all that, I should finally be able to create the Mark V [B] Spartan I’ve always wanted in Infinite.
As there is, most of it is noticable through the helmet and coating. Sadly a lot of those is behind most paywalls.
It’s not much of a paywall though.
And as long as you rock whatever you buy it’s value for money.
Be selective and only buy something you’ll wear.
By the time you divide the cost by hours worn - you can easily make it a value purchase.
Of course, there will always be those who think not handing over a cent is some sort of badge of honour. Meh. If it makes you happy buy it.
Basically, yeah. Not much more to say than that, lol.
No hate, but why is blue, white, and black the better option? I thought we all have different tastes? That is the point of options.
It’s just that Black Primary Red Secondary is SO common.
We do have different tastes. I’m just bemoaning the most common - and most dominant color array of coatings.

I tend to customisey spartan often enough.
Mostly cause i was waiting between games as it seemed to help me get getter connection than a constant solo queue but my steam spartan is default cadet purple or obilisk stone not sure witch.
Havent played in a while.

Well, I was working on a Mark VII [B] variant 5-6 months ago. It’s simply too much of a hassle to grind all the way to level 90 for a helmet.
lol, it doesn’t offend. It’s just tiring to see everywhere.
I mean just casual play will get you there eventually anyway.
No, even the most out there coatings make people look the same. The lack of unique color combinations is so noticable. You may think your Spartans are unique looking, but those coatings just make you look like everyone else who has the same thing on. And it’s between matches. It’s dumb.
I hit 100 on the second battle pass in a little over a month. I did so only putting forth an hour to two hours of play a day, and I played game modes I enjoyed, ignoring practically every challenge the game offered unless I could just happen to do it in the game modes I enjoyed playing.
You can do this too, but even if you don’t play how I do, it’ll still happen in due time by simply playing.
I know. It’s just the way they have the game setup. Just ain’t feeling it.
I mean why is the helmet so far up there to begin with?

It wouldn’t be such an issue if we had the performance based progession.
Every time I hop on, it’s just straight to training mode. I mean, multiplayer is that bad. That’s just my opinion though.
Welp, it’s not like spending hours in training won’t be enough to keep a person like me occupied. For some odd reason, I just can’t help but play that mode.
I get people are frustrated they can’t choose like in previous games. And there is still plenty to complain about with coatings / cores etc.
But is there way more colour out there then in any other game before.
As as for making your Spartan an individual - there is already plenty to work with. And we’re only in Season 2. If we were knee deep in Season 4 like we were supposed to be (sigh) we would have hundreds of thousands more options.
It will come in time.
PS. I love the Rakshasa core. For the first time ever I’m actually putting effort into dressing up my Barbie.
And I have two set ups. A Rakshasa for Ranked. And A MVII (with bunny ears) for Social.
Well, I like my Spartan to wear something like the MKV mixed with the MKVI, kind of like what I got right now; standard MKVII armor with the MKV helmet, with black armor and blue visor, much like the ODSTs.
Until 343 gives us new ways to make our Spartans truly unique, we make the best with what we got right now.
