Anybody spotted Bob recently ?

Incase you all didn’t know, Bob is a mythical Elite that is often a Golden Ranger class or White Zealot class. I’m curious to know how many times you guys ran into him.

This is interesting, I didn’t know Bob, the Elite was an actual thing. You learn something new everyday

I often see him running away in the beginning of the campaign. But, you will find him at the ONI Sword Base as a White Zealot or White Officer class. I think it was like some kind of bungie secret a while back that gives you the B.O.B. Helmet for Reach, but that’s all I know.

That’s very interesting. I really wish I would have known about BOB back when Halo Reach was the game to play

There is no Bob helmet, sadly.

I should have around 100 BOB kills by now. The only place I can get him to appear is in the first mission. When I get to that first warthog without the gun, I hop in it and take off leaving my squad behind and just follow the path around, cut left through the building, then follow the path down and splatter the BOB charging me at the bottom of the hill. If I can’t get him to appear there, I can keep following the path and find its other spawn location by a rock on the right. I usually have to restart the mission a few times before I see him. After killing him, I can restart the checkpoint and he’ll be there every time.

It’s nearly impossible to play through a campaign level and NOT see one. As far as I know one will spawn at a designated location out of multiple possible places each play-through.

Acutally, it is impossible. If you turn the games difficulty down to Easy you can never find Bob, atleast through normal gameplay.

…people play on easy?? What’s the point. I don’t even think you earn commendations from that.

I actually have a video on my channel on how to get the daily challenge for killing a BoB elite, and the video shows how to do it in less than 5 minutes from powering your system up to getting the challenge.

Of course, duh.

Simple, The Package, starting from alpha, if the RNG God is nice you get it in less than 60 seconds.

I remember trying to kill 777 BoBs back in the day just to see if it would do anything.

I probably only killed 100 or so.

I remember glitching the first level of the campaign and B.O.B hijacked my Falcon.

I actually do the first mission starting from Bravo on Heroic (where you get in the civilian truck with Carter and Jorge.) All you have to do is punch it and take every path going to the right you see and you will pretty much splatter one in like 30-50 seconds at around the location where you help fight off the Covenant with the small group of Marines by the river.

I didn’t know about BOB back in the day but I do remember doing things, like that, to see if anything cool or special would happen.

Did they ever find the one that didn’t spawn properly on the level with the cannons (Tip of the spear)? I remember watching a breakdown of it years ago, but I don’t know if it ever got fixed.

Right at the start of Winter Contingency? That’s not a BOB, that’s Bill. He doesn’t have the same properties, he is there to carry a Data Pad. I have a clip where I assassinate him on my file share. ^^

I frequently kill BOB’s in campaign, most notably:

  • The one on Winter Contingency, he’s in one of three spots, in all of which you can Splatter him.
  • The one on ONI: Sword Base, he’s either in the Courtyard, or on a balcony inside Sword Base.
  • The one on Nightfall, in two of the three spawn locations I snipe him sometimes, though it’s tough on higher difficulties, due to the amount of shots needed.
  • The one on New Alexandria (which is in a Banshee that only boosts along a set path).

Think I probably killed all of the BOB spawns at least once at this point, save for the ones in Exodus (also Banshees, pretty hard to kill from your Falcon imo). Would’ve been cool to have a stat somewhere (something like “BOB’s found and eliminated: 34/41”).

The elite’s name isn’t Bill, there isn’t even an offical name for him.

That was meant tongue-in-cheek. But I didn’t pull it from thin air, I think it is/was a commonly used nickname for him (which probably originates the movie Kill BIll). Heard it in some guide, I think.
