Anytime i offer any sort of criticism on the /r/halo page a bunch of fanboys yell at me for having legitimate concerns. I was hoping Waypoint would be a better place to voice my frustrations and maybe find people who agree. Anyway here is why i think this game sucks:
Cons:
-SPRINT
-ADS
-Bullet Magnetism Returning
-By the time anyone appears on the radar, theyre already anally penetrating me with a spartan charge
-Spartan charge is -Yoinking!- retarded, and rewards you for blindly sprinting around the map and reduces the amount of skill/strategy require to be good.
-More trade kills that ive ever seen in any game period(more than ive gotten in all past halos combined, in just the small amount of weeks this game has been out)
-The extremely stupid melee system that lowers the staple halo ttk significantly
-microtrasactions and how meaningless armor is in H5
-Graphics arent anything spectacular
-No split screen, i understand why it wasnt added and it was stated that H5 wouldnt feature splitscreen, but it still feels wrong.
-Lack of social playlists, maps, and modes
-Extreme inbalance in maps
-Horrid map design(thanks sprint!)
-No br starts, which forces you in to close range encounters that significantly compresses the skill gap because the melee in this game is a -Yoinking!- heat-seeker, and kills absurdly fast, resulting in the awful trade kills even if you had a significant advantage in the gunfight because you are a better player.
-Terrible matchmatking, my teammates are never near my CSR, not to mention it takes me 2-5 minutes to find a match unless im playing warzone(that rivals MCC, and that game failed and has abysmal playlist populations)
-Not necessarily a multiplayer complain but imo the campaign is trash and everyone on lockes team aside from buck are extremely weak.
-Only 3 missions as chief
-Shortest campaign ive ever played in any game(took me 5 hours on legendary)
Pros:
60 FPS is great
Gunplay is great
Sound design is phenomonal
Forge looks amazing, and if they add classic slayer playlists with no spartan ability -Yoink-, i may start loving this game.
The worlds look great, i really enjoyed exploring sanghelios

Waypoint is in no way better. Worse even. This site is basically owned by 343 right now. So instead of Halo 5 fanboys, you are getting 343 fanboys. Also, they ban at will, unlike Reddit which allows most threads to stay open
You nailed it however. Everyone sensible thinks like you about Halo 5 and 343 as a developer. IMO, 343 is a waste of space as a game developer, and most likely a money laundering scheme for Microsoft CEO’s
Thanks for the response! You have no idea how good it feels to find someone who doesnt barrage me with a plethora of profanities just because i have a different opinion.

> Cons:
> -SPRINT
> Sprint is a necessary by product of Halo’s slow movement speed. If they wanted to (or were technically able), they could do what Quake or UT do and just give players a high base run speed
> -ADS
> It’s essentially no different than the zoom in previous Halo’s. Doesn’t impact accuracy at all.
> -Bullet Magnetism Returning
> Agreed, this is terrible, but necessary given how utterly atrocious the deadzones and acceleration on the thumbsticks are
> -By the time anyone appears on the radar, theyre already anally penetrating me with a spartan charge
> Yep, reducing the radar on top of increasing the pace of the game and mobility of Spartans was dumb. But you expect better from 343i?
> -Spartan charge is -Yoinking!- retarded, and rewards you for blindly sprinting around the map and reduces the amount of skill/strategy require to be good.
> Yeah, it’s pretty bad. Honestly, increasing radar would fix most of the issues with it. If you get hit head on by one, your own fault.
> -More trade kills that ive ever seen in any game period(more than ive gotten in all past halos combined, in just the small amount of weeks this game has been out)
> Sweet christ yes. I don’t know if this is just 343i failing at netcode, or 343i failing at game balance, but it needs to be addressed.
> -The extremely stupid melee system that lowers the staple halo ttk significantly
> The melees in this game are garbage. If anybody can tell me what conditions have to be met to get a lunge on my melee vs a trex whiff, I’d love to hear it.
> -microtrasactions and how meaningless armor is in H5
> You don’t have to spend a dime on the game to earn every piece of armor.
> -Graphics arent anything spectacular
> Some of the graphics are. Likewise for the art. Some of it is terrible. Most of the terrible and mediocre -Yoink- is in MP, sadly.
> -No split screen, i understand why it wasnt added and it was stated that H5 wouldnt feature splitscreen, but it still feels wrong.
> Don’t care. I have the internet where I live.
> -Lack of social playlists, maps, and modes

> -Extreme inbalance in maps
> Most of the original maps in this game are genuinely terrible.
> -Horrid map design(thanks sprint!)
> The map design isn’t bad because of sprint. If anything, they could have spread the maps out a bit more, instead of feeling like no matter how well you do, you’re always 2 seconds away from a freshly spawned dude coming round the corner.
> -No br starts, which forces you in to close range encounters that significantly compresses the skill gap because the melee in this game is a -Yoinking!- heat-seeker, and kills absurdly fast, resulting in the awful trade kills even if you had a significant advantage in the gunfight because you are a better player.
> Magnum is a beast. Utility and precision weapon balance is one of the few things 343i got very right.

> -Not necessarily a multiplayer complain but imo the campaign is trash and everyone on lockes team aside from buck are extremely weak.
> Everybody on Chief’s side including Chief is extremely weak. People hold him up because of nostalgia. His characterization is still faceless garbage.
> -Only 3 missions as chief
> And? If you played the Locke missions as the other stoic lead character with all the same abilities, they’d magically be better. The encounter design is trash, the narrative is trash. Only playing as Chief for 3 missions was the least of that campaign’s concerns.
> -Shortest campaign ive ever played in any game(took me 5 hours on legendary)

You might wanna prepare yourself for all the senseless hate you’re about to get. These forums are a cesspool of uninformed 343 fanboys. Doesn’t matter if you back up your opinions with fact; if you don’t conform to their blind opinions, you’re wrong on all fronts.

The worst ive seen on here are people defending, yes, defending, the implementation of microtransactions and with it, a pay to win in a sense for Warzone. Argue with me all you want you fanboys, but the dude spending 60 bucks a month on req packs and firing out those OP ghosts and tanks every 5 minutes has a better chance to win. Which is pay to win
Please explain me how you are going to play BTB and Warzone without sprint? Sprint is a fact and its a fact for 3 generations now. Get the -Yoink- over it.
Spawns are terrible. I agree.
They could make a game mode called slayer pro for the BR lovers.
ADS aint a problem… never used it anyway. Only on precision weapons.
They could make the spartan charge less auto aim. I saw some epic anti fysics with the spartan charge. But they dont have to remove it.
Graphics are very nice, but the lightning is sometimes off… so the game looks sometimes very pixel.
I find games very quick… CSR could be better. And they are going to give us more aiming options.
Iam fine with the game. Even thought i think most of the 'new’content should already be here with the vanilla version

I played BTB in Halo 3 without sprint and it was perfectly fine. Warzone isnt really my thing, but i agree sprint is neccessary in that mode. But i could do without that pay to win nonsense TBH, the AI is so intrusive.

Vehicles, teleporters, man cannons or just plain and simple higher BMS. I guess we would play it the same way we did for nearly a decade before Reach came along…
-ADS It’s essentially no different than the zoom in previous Halo’s. Doesn’t impact accuracy at all.
That is not true. The AR, SMG and Saw gain accuracy bonuses from zooming. And yes, because your gun now blocks part of your vision, it can effect your accuracy and situational awareness. This was never an issue in Halo, now it is. Thanks, 343.

“Everyone SENSIBLE has the same opinion as you! People who dont are just blind 343 fanboys!”
Or maybe they just actually like the game? Come on, man.
(You haven’t even played halo 5, and all your forum posts, like pretty much the other 50 percent of waypoint, are just about how much it sucks.)

It does significantly reduce the horizontal bullet spread, and makes recoil alot more predictable.
I love Halo 5. Honestly, I think the graphics, gunplay, vehicles and multiplayer are all first class experiences. I don’t see an issue with the REQ system, as it is the reason we get free DLC. The movement is fluid, and works as I personally feel it aught to. And the ADS, does work. But it was jarring, moving from the old to the new, there was definitely a point where I hated the ADS mechanic. But, now, I’ve grown to love it. This game though, has undoubtedly split the community into two halves, quite viciously. I was lucky enough to be in the half that enjoys the mechanics, but I can see where the other side is coming from. Sprint does, ironically, restrict map design, and the new abilities like clamber do as well. This could be considered a turn for the worse, but the satisfaction, and variation in gameplay that comes from knowing, and pulling off a specific clamber, in my opinion outweigh the inherent problems with the maps. In my opinion anyway. I love the game, I think 343 has in general taken the franchise the way it needs to go for the future, not to say that they did it perfectly. This was their Windows 8. And I find myself loving it.
The one thing I cant stand is the bullet magnetism, I feel like when I actually aim at the head I get a torso kill and when I aim at the torso its a headshot. I just aim at the torso now and get all headshots. Overall I like the game, it feels nice.
I am not going to moan any more until I see what gametypes forge comes with.

I’ve played since CE and I think this the worse Halo ever made.
And seriously, crying? You people use “crying”, “get used to it”, and my personal favorite “don’t like it, don’t play it” as just ways to dodge the issue.

People use crying a lot because frankly, a lot of people here on Waypoint seem to do it.
Whether it could be on the defense or on the offense on 343’s decisions on Halo or otherwise, its extremely hard to come across level headed posts about Halo that arent either “343 killed halo, im gonna yell about it now, stop sucking 343’s -nope- and log out of life” or " people need to back off, halo 5/mcc/whatever is the best game evarz!!1111" . Getting level headed replies to these posts is even rarer. I’m not talking about anyone in specific, mind you, but I’m more talking about why people use the term “crying” a lot here.
