Anybody else feel like Isabel needs a rework?

Isabel’s leader powers are really the only thing going for her, and they just aren’t enough. Her Scorpions don’t stack up to Forge’s Grizzlies, shielding your Nightingales only gives them one extra second in big battles, and otherwise she isn’t that strong. I feel like she could benefit from a rework, one that gives her a lot more uniqueness compared to Forge or Johnson (she feels like an inferior version of those two).

If I were to do such a rework, I’d retool her so she has access to more “hacker” options akin to her Ghost In The Machine LP. Namely, I’d give her access to the Gremlin from Halo Wars 1, but have it modified so that it can temporarily hack enemy vehicles and put them under your control. With enough micro, you could make an enemy’s mechanized army kill itself. Beyond that, the Gremlin’s laser would make it able to deal considerable damage to enemy vehicles as well. However, the Gremlins would be weak against air attacks (can’t attack air) and to infantry (which they can’t hack), especially Cyclops. It’d also be somewhat squishy for cost, meaning you need other units to soak damage for them.

I’d also shift up what Leader Powers she has available to her, removing Combat Salvage in exchange for a passive that reduces the cost and cooldowns of her LPs. This would help her as a “caster” UNSC Commander, one who focuses a lot more on using LPs to win fights rather than trying to brute-force her way in.

That’s just some rough brainstorming. Got any of your own ideas on how to improve/rework Isabel?

She’s fine accelerated assembly being moved to leader power 2 made her mid game much more viable. She’s way better than Johnson in my opinion. Isabel tanks with nightingales might be one of the strongest late game armies in the game and ghost in the machine is much more viable now she doesn’t need a rework

Oh no don’t get rid of Combat Salvage for Isabel, oh my why would you do that? All Isabel needs is just an offensive drop. Like I’ve been suggesting since Day 1, the Lockdown Scorpion would be a nice drop with veterancy, Nightengale, and maybe 2 cyclops.

Well, I’d at least replace SOMETHING in order to get a passive to improve Isabel’s LP cooldowns. Ghost in the Machine takes FOREVER to recharge.

Isa is a lot better now with Ve.Acc moved up in the tiers.

What sucks is they just keep nerfing tanks any way they can before they even get to shine. They are the only unit in the game that Creative will not allow to become strong, period.

In my opinion Isabel is completely balanced, if anything overpowered. Though I wouldn’t suggest nerfing her in any way. She is in a very good spot right now and is more viable than she ever was. I think if anything her hero needs a buff. But she is able to be an annoyance in the late game with “ghost in the machine” being able to destroy nearly half of an army using only this leader power, and on top of that she is a very good late/ ok early game leader. You mentioned how she is like a worse forge and Johnson combined(which I don’t see, the only related thing to Johnson she has is combat salvage) while yes, 1v1 scorpions against grizzlies you will lose but Isabel wasn’t meant to be a offensive character, she is defensive. Not meant to go into 1v1s. If you want the best results going into 3s is a much better option then 1s because you have teammates to back you up. And you said one of the things that 343 should do is to take away her combat salvage, and this is a bad idea. Her combat salvage is key to her load out. If you use GINM(Ghost In The Machine) and then you use combat salvage if any of those units that you took control die then you can take control of those units permanently, including unique units like grizzlies, colossus, and even blister backs! This helps her get a grip in the battle field if she’s falling behind. Removing would severely nerf her and make her less viable
In conclusion they shouldn’t nerf Isabel, she is very balanced. Now this is just my opinion but the game is much more balanced than it’s ever been with every leader having weaknesses and strengths, all of them being viable. But hey, thats just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

Still upsets me to this day, that such a cool design and concept is left just to Blitz.
