Any word on "Vote" vs "Veto" in matchmaking?

Which option has 343i decided on and which would you prefer?

Personally, I liked veto better.

I liked voting for a map, it gave you more variety on what you play and what everyone else wants to play.

Voting was okay but veto was much better for variety. I’d like it back.

Is this a tomato / tamoto conversation…?

lol wut.

Voting gave you three options at a time. Vetoing gave you one.

Voting made it so that you could pick the same -Yoinking!- game type every time. Veto made it so that you only had 2 choices. You could choose to play one map or chance it for a better or worse gametype.

I just hope that none of the maps are bad. That is the key factor really. If they are all enjoyable to play on then voting won’t bother me. The only time I’d vote against a map is if i’ve played on it a ton but that won’t be anywhere near as bad as reach.

People voted too much for the same bad maps over and over and over again not voting for the other 90% of the maps in the game that were good.

Now with loadouts you won’t have to worry about morons voting for bad gametypes like AR starts or a game mode you don’t like either because it looks like each playlist is separated by game mode instead of bunched into one playlist.

Whatever they decide, once you input a decision it should be locked. I’m getting tired of people on Reach holding down on the joystick and clicking A repeatedly on each choice over and over again. It messes up the voting choice and its annoying to look at.

Veto was way better. I was forced to play Hemorrhage 4 times in a row last night because players with poor taste in maps kept voting for it.

Veto. It’s random so that’s what makes it kind of fun. Not to mention people can’t vote the same map/gametype over and over.

I played Spire three times in a row! Madness!

Agreed.

And still no info on what system Halo 4 is using

I really hope Veto is back.

Voting made me play Countdown 5 times in a row in Team Slayer.

-Yoink- voting.

I would prefer a mix of them.

Veto: if people didn’t like what was presented they vetoed and what ever came up next is what you got whether you liked it or not.

Voting: This allowed you a choice as to what you could play, plus an option to go to another round of voting.

This is what I would like to see. First round of voting you have 3 choices and a none of the above option. However the voting is blind. You see what you vote for, but no one else voted for until the timer runs out. In the event of a tie or a none of the above selection (veto), the game goes to one choice in the next round, and you play that map and game type.

I know I have voted for maps that I didn’t particularly want to play because the ones the people were picking I liked them less.

Voting because the majority get to play what the majority want to play.

VETO!!

Voting is good in theory but in practice instead of more variety it actually leads to many people picking the same maps again and again cough Cage cough . I want an upgraded Halo 3 veto system that has a few rounds of vetoing.

Just sat and watched my girlfriend play 7 matches on Swordbase followed by 5 on Zealot.

VETO PLS

That’s because Reachs map selection is absolutely atrocious.

I’m hoping for veto, as has been said the most popular maps pull votes and then I have to play sword base… Again,

Also I figure it contributed to dlc success overall
