Any word on separating PC and Console players?

It’s sad how 343 just forces Crossplay onto players, Sea of Thieves gives you the option to play with Xbox & Controller players and it works out well

I want to play on my own platform, there should always be an option for players

That’s an issue with console/software interaction, not necessarily an issue with the game itself. Without proof, I’m sure that there are other games in which this interaction is also rendered void.

I actually think the infrastructure is not there. It is in MCC, but the infrastructure here is for control setup, not game system.

Well your thoughts are disproven with the fact that ranked clearly allows for Crossplay (Open) or segregated (solo duo) play.

With the right systems in place they do work.

Reports tip off Devs what hacks look and function like. While bans can be circumvented (F2P has nothing to do with this concept), it allows algorithms and patches to be implemented that stop the progression and dissemination of cheats as they’re understood.

Other than the “AI learning” system 343 has in place, I’m not sure what else is currently being done so I can’t speak for it. But if you don’t utilize the proper channels to actively report suspected cheaters with proof, nothing can be done, period. Best to take a chance and hope for the best (at the moment) than simply to state conjecture.

That has very little to do with responding to what I actually said, which is that I wonder if a hacker would be able to trick 343i’s detection (PC vs Console, if that detection even exists, and Controller vs MKB). Which would not surprise me in the slightest.

I wonder if, and would not be surprised if, they can even “trick” 343i’s system detection into believing their MKB is a controller or their PC is an XBOX. I’m sure someone clever could manage it and at that point it’s game over for console players.

I could be wrong, but based on how the game’s post stats are displayed, I’d bet that console of choice is not the current determining segregating factor and input is.

The “infrastructure” is the ability to employ segregation between distinct groups which as you acknowledged currently exists.

Currently it’s tied to input, but that does not mean it can’t be tweaked to affect consoles. “Framework” is able to be built upon, which can most likely be done in this case.

I don’t know why this is a point of contention when both of us are in agreement for its active and potential functionality.

Doesn’t diminish the fact that a player stating they ran into several cheaters doesn’t potentially accomplish as much as sending in video of these cheaters to a designated cheater tip off support center.

There are substantial problems on consoles with cheating too. Look at Cronus and Console TunerV2. You can create literal aimbots for yourself. Disabling cross-play will not fix it.

There’s no wrong in the first place. Eliminating crossplay doesn’t eliminate cheating and 5-10 years down the road if 343 is serious about their 10 year plan for Infinite we might need crossplay so we have good que times and don’t suffer the same fate as Halo 5.

False. I play on both PC and my Xbox Series X and there is zero difference between aim assist. Aim assist just simply doesn’t work.

Lot of babies in here complaining about cheaters in ranked to make themselves feel better. Hundreds of games and not a single one I’ve encountered.

There’s a bag load of aim assist on controller still, although a lot less than MCC. This is good since MCC almost plays itself; it’s so easy compared to mouse.

I’m not sure if I had less AA when on my series X but it certainly felt worse. Maybe just playing at 60fps Vs 140+ on my pc though.

343 has made a post on the cheating problem in the game on redit. Yes i known there’s players out there that will lie and say thay lost to cheaters. But that doesn’t excuse those who are cheating.
