Any word on separating PC and Console players?

I can’t find anything on 343 addressing this issue. Kind of sick of the high platinum to onyx ranked matches being filled with hackers and cheaters.

There are two things, IMO, that 343, will not do regardless of the amount of yelling the community does. Fix the monetization and prices and separate console and PC players. They might tweek a couple of things to try to address this, but I think it’s here to stay.

They want everyone, everywhere to be able to play together for better or worse.

Nope not yet but the infrastructure is there.

You’re just going to have to witch hunt a bit longer.

Or just go into theater mode and expose them while they never get banned or suffer any consequences.

Are you on console? And are you solo/duo with controller input and still running into cheaters? I asked because I feel like there are cheaters there but not too sure cause it’s controllers.

Or you could use official channels to report them rather than continuing an ambiguous sense of assumption.

The Solo/Duo and choosing Controller doesn’t mean you will just get controller players. I played a few ranked matches last night with those settings and was still going up against PC.

You do realize most pc users are on controllers because of the strength of the aim assist on controllers in this game right!

The PC controllers have high aim assist but not the Xbox controllers.

I prefer crossplay. It allowed me to played with friends I haven’t played Halo with in many years.

Umm… PC is a platform, not a control scheme…

It’s like complaining in the K&M only lobbies that you are still playing with Console players… I am sure you intended to say that you will still get PC players in the K&M or Controller only Lobbies…

We’re not asking for crossplay to be cut out of Halo we just want a opinion to play Pc with just Pc or Xbox with Xbox.

343 has say thay were going to give us a opinion to pick already. As to wan we can only 343 knows.

Sounds good to me. I hadnt seen that but makes sense.

Why should they talk about it at all? It doesn’t make any sense except for high ranked onyx players, which are like the 0,5% of the population

You’re exactly correct! Go ahead and search for the following topic for further education on the matter: “Aim-assist is stronger on PC than on Xbox. With video proof”.

Cheerio!

Yes you’ll be up against PC but mouse and key input is disabled in the controller input filter. Cause I was wondering and tried it, and mouse was disabled.

I actually think the infrastructure is not there. It is in MCC, but the infrastructure here is for control setup, not game system.
The evidence for this being that if you turn off crossplay at a console level, you will still be able to play with PC players.

Reports and bans of cheaters are meaningless. As this is a F2P game, there is nothing stopping them from making another account and continuing to cheat.

I wonder if, and would not be surprised if, they can even “trick” 343i’s system detection into believing their MKB is a controller or their PC is an XBOX. I’m sure someone clever could manage it and at that point it’s game over for console players.

Don’t bother responding, I know you’re just going to spew some ignorant defense of 343i.

Well lucky for you I’m just crazy enough to ignore elitist gatekeeping horse hockey

Well your thoughts are disproven with the fact that ranked clearly allows for Crossplay (Open) or segregated (solo duo) play.

The infrastructure visibly exists within the title. It just needs to be expanded upon.

That’s an issue with console/software interaction, not necessarily an issue with the game itself. Without proof, I’m sure that there are other games in which this interaction is also rendered void.

Point remains, the ability to enable console segregation exists within Halo Infinite, and that should be the focus of arguments. If the framework already exists, why not just enable it?

With the right systems in place they do work.

Reports tip off Devs what hacks look and function like. While bans can be circumvented (F2P has nothing to do with this concept), it allows algorithms and patches to be implemented that stop the progression and dissemination of cheats as they’re understood.

Other than the “AI learning” system 343 has in place, I’m not sure what else is currently being done so I can’t speak for it. But if you don’t utilize the proper channels to actively report suspected cheaters with proof, nothing can be done, period. Best to take a chance and hope for the best (at the moment) than simply to state conjecture.

I have to verify this, but I believe the game simply registers input hardware rather than console of choice. Since both console and PC allow for M/KB or controller.

I could be wrong, but based on how the game’s post stats are displayed, I’d bet that console of choice is not the current determining segregating factor and input is.
