With Halo 3, Reach, and 4’s services ending soon, would it be possible in any way to get any of the armors that require online services? I know MCC exists and its far better than the legacy versions now, but Id still think it would be neat if we can go back to those older games and customize our spartans the way we want since their services are going to be discontinued anyways.
Also I booted up Halo 3 on a series x and it played worse than on my one. Audio was cutting off, lots of stuttering, then it eventually crashed before I could even load into a game.

I’ve been curious - haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve wanted to take my 360 offline and boot up Reach and Halo 3 and see what still sticks. I had always thought that the armor was “downloadable”, as in it followed you even with offline progress, but I could be completely wrong about that.

Pretty sure armour is still there in offline mode, unless they purposely -Yoink- with it you’ll probably still be able to unlock Reach armour that doesn’t require the Halo Waypoint 360 app.

From what I’ve noticed, you keep all the armor offline exceot for Recon. I know because that’s what I use and it goes away every time I play offline but everything else is there.

For me, it all still sticks in Reach including anything I unlocked via Waypoint and my Legendary Edition pieces like the special Recon helmet, flame effect, and Elite Major/Officer skin. This counts whether I booted up the 360 without my ethernet cable connected or unplugged it while playing, which I had to do back in April-May when there were regular server screwups and I wasn’t able to connect to them at all (or they’d drop mid-campaign level; could tell because I’d start out the opening cutscenes in my custom green-and-white kit and would revert to all-steel-all-default in a later cutscene). Going full offline kept every single armor piece I’d unlocked to that point and still allowed me to unlock more and customize it 100% the same way you would be able to normally and the same way I’d done for years prior to even getting xbox live.
In Halo 3 I never got much extra armor since I never actually played enough online. But whether I’m online or offline, I still have all the armor I did unlock. I don’t think we need to worry about our armor going away in either game despite what the “sunsetting” chart shows. I don’t see how it could go away if it’s still available with zero connection to online and is (to the best of my understanding) hardwired into the game.
