We’re ~3 months into Halo Infinite multiplayer being live and still to this day, the only option for a mouse and keyboard only playlist is the solo/duo queue ranked option. If tuning aim assist to balance controller and mnk is going to take a very extended period, can we at least have more options for only playing against other mnk players?
I am a MnK-Player myself.
I do not estimate, that aim assist will be changed to balance MnK with Controller. The controller-playerbase is way bigger than the mnk-playerbase and every “unnecessary” change in aim assist will make way more people angry than happy.
Changing MnK-Controls with more bullet magnitism or slight aim assist will lead to an outcry in the bigger controller-playerbase, so I do not see that change coming, too.
Making MnK-Only playlists for every gamemode might lead to longer matchmaking-processes, because out of the prime time there are very few MnK players (keep in mind, steam players can play with controller, too). We know, that there is SBMM not only in ranked, but even in Social Playlists and BTB, so a very low MnK-playerbase and SBMM would lead to very long matchmaking cycles that would be unbearable for many players.
It is all political. And crossplay is the only solution for now to create short matchmaking cycles for MnK-players. This is very annoying, I understand that, but I do not see any reasons to become more optimistic in this regard…
Would really be a shame if that’s the case. They are missing out on MASSES of players if these adjustments aren’t made.
If you look at the player charts like steam which show the playerbase with possible MnK-Players, you see that the masses of MnK-Players are already gone.
A short time after release there was a statistic revealed, that shows, how superior controller players are. The frustration has already been there for months. The time window for most MnK-Players has been closed for a long time.
