Patch is out a week now and we seem to be none the wiser as to the cause of the lost SP and time played on MP. Just looking for some updates/communication from the devs.
Have you anything to report. Is there anything we can do to fix this? The fact that waypoint is showing the correct stats gives me some hope but this is becoming all to common now with patches.
I have filled in the special thread you created to track this issue Ske7ch but not heard anything since. Any updates here. Have you at least found the issues cause. I would like to point out that this happened when Colony was released to some players aswell.
I am in two minds whether I should continue to play the game for fear a server roll back will be required which will revert my MP progress.

Do you think they can retrieve the data from Halowaypoint? I have all in halowaypoint. I don’t want to make all the campaign in legendary again man… Not knowing can be delete it again.
Yeah I am not willing to start the campaign again, only for it to be wiped again when the next DLC is released. I will hold out hope that this is just a sync error between the local save and the cloud save. Really don’t know how a DLC patch can wipe ALL time played via multiplayer and all single player data.
If this is a sync issue between local save data and the cloud save, AND we know that the waypoint stats are correct, would it be worth deleting the local save data and removing your account from the Xbox. Once this is done, you could re-download your xbox profile and when you launch Halo Wars it should download the cloud save?

Have you tried? I am afraid to do it and just break it completely. This game is so fragile, seriously.

Haha no mate, but at this stage what harm can it do. I mean at this stage there are two scenarios available:
We lose all our data and will not get it back without playing the game again
343 manage to pull the data from waypoint and link your account again to restore the data
All saves are sent to the cloud anyway so it seems that they will download if you remove the local save file. I think at this stage its worth a shot. I just wish Ske7ch or other devs would give us an update. We are at least owed that much. Just come out and say “it cant be fixed, we are sorry” or “it is possible to fix and we will patch it soon”. Staying quiet does no one any favours.

The team hopes that this is the case but honestly we don’t have this 100% solved yet. The CA and 343 teams are still working to understand what actually happened here - it’s not something that anyone has been able to reproduce internally and only a small, seemingly random subset of players are affected by this.
This is a complicated issue that likely involves Xbox services side of things so multiple groups are engaged and trying to work through this.
I don’t have any other update right now other than the top priority is figuring out what happened and ensuring it doesn’t happen again and finding a way to hopefully restore the progress and unlocks that were lost.

Thank you for the update ske7ch. appreciate it. I have gone and started the campaign again. I dont see how it will be possible to restore missing save files. This is especially the case when players have continued to play the game since the issue first happened meaning there would be a massive difference between the OLD data and the NEW date. It would be very difficult to restore things back to where they were. I am going to complete the campaign again and get the achievements that I want. If it never gets fixed or wiped again, then at least this way I am not going to be overly concerned.
It is very odd though that the “time played” counter was reset. I mean this counter, counts both campaign and MP play time, yet all other MP stats are unaffected. My MP rank and wins/loss are all still ok which is the main thing I am worried about.
There is a fix you can do for the missing achievements and achievements not popping. You delete both the local and cloud save files and start the game again. The achievements will then pop as you complete them. This has been tested by 2 people I know and they got their missing achievements. (This does sound to me like a sync issue)
This just happen to me after I got disconnected from a match…all my logs and missions are now locked, wtf is this? Please do something this is incredible wrong
