Any tips ?

I’m a pretty new player and was wondering if there any tips and tricks you guys would like to share?

Here’s something no one ever talks about - pressing up on the D Pad will actually ping your location to teammates. Any relatively skilled teammate will see this and usually move towards you to help.

If you’re in a tough spot it’s usually worth giving it a press. It’s a way of communicating to your team who may not be in your party.

Honestly you’d be surprised how few people know about this.
If you look at your radar whilst you do it you’ll see a yellow ping. It basically flashes your service tag yellow to alert friendlies

Depends on what kind of tips and tricks you’re looking for.

If it’s for gameplay, I have some for that. If you’re struggling against other players, go into the controller settings and take a look at your different movement speeds. Slowing your movement down (or speeding it up might give you an edge). I’ve also learned (mainly by watching other players) that jumping can actually save you in a pitch, or at a minimum, make it that much harder for the enemy to kill you. Same thing with crouch walking (and this makes you not show up on radar too). Same goes for your booster pack, knowing when the right time to use it could make the difference in a fight, especially when close to cover and you need that extra second or two to get your shields back.

Or were you talking grinding rank? Opening req packs? I have some for that too. Not sure if you’re trying to get to 152 before Infinite or not, but you do have a long way to go, about 49.998 million to go. But… to speed it up a little, I would stick to firefight if xp is what you want, and I would stick specifically to heroic firefight, mythic pays more, but it’s a lot more difficult and find the stress and time not really worth it in the end anyway, so I stick to heroic fightfight if it’s xp you’re after. If it’s not you want to stick to arena, check out the featured playlists, they offer double xp and rotate every weekend or so (depending on the gametype). Trying to unlock stuff with your req points? Start by opening silver packs, once you’ve unlocked everything you can from the silver packs, you’ll get RP back from the req and you can start buying gold packs and repeat the process. There’s also a handy google doc out there to help you keep track (if that’s your thing).

That’s all I can think of for now… if you have any questions or want to know more… I’m here almost daily…

For 4v4 arena specifically, a lot of maps have openings up on walls. You might not initially think anything of these, but they’re great for getting nade kills or for moving around the map faster. A lot of them can be clambered through for quick access to other parts of the map.

Theres quite a difference in map flow and play style when it comes to particular modes like standard 4v4 slayer compared to team arena and the modes in there being under HCS settings.

Team Arena settings change the radar to where walking at normal speed will not ping your position to the enemy on their radar. Only if you sprint, fire a weapon (excluding the tactical magnum) or use the thruster or stabilize. I think if you melee it might also reveal your position. I’m not sure since I always melee their back and get a 1hk

Also, spartan abilities such as ground pound and spartan charge are disabled.

To get an idea of how players do basic movement across the map, you should watch some YT videos. Shyway has the advanced stuff in his videos, and if you go further back he most likely has the more basic movement in a video somewhere. It will help you flow around the map.

Also, don’t burn your thrusters often. You may end up using them when you don’t need to, only to bump into an enemy who has his thruster available while yours is on cool down putting you at a significant disadvantage.

Don’t run if your shields have not recharged after taking damage. They will stop recharging if you do.

For advanced tips, just check out YT. There’s tons of useful videos ranging from improving your shot, your strafe, to map knowledge, advanced skill jumps etc.

Aim the sword like a gun to lunge, if ur walking over grenades anyway throw what u have, asset denial, snipes unload the Clip when ur about to die(snapshot?), rockets shoot at the ground near them.laser and rail pre charge before u see the enemy. Oversheild can still die from back tap, invis works better with no teammates near u.

I have a tip, I recommend always running around, sliding, and always dodging when you can. Another great tip that’s for warzone is to have a balanced load out, like having a ranged weapon as your primary, and having a close quarter one for your secondary. Another tip for warzone load outs is to use your REQ’s to complete commendations, and not just to waste them.

Watch games after you play them. Watch the good players to learn from and also yourself to see what you can improve on.

I have one tip: if you even want to play the campaign, please do NOT do it solo! You will regret it instantly. Do it on co-op. I am available if you need me for that, but just remember: Fred is mine and you can’t stop me from picking him in co-op. You just can’t!

I’ve played the campaign solo many times and enjoy it thoroughly. Any reasoning behind what you’re saying?

I think he is trying to say that the game was designed for co-op campaign play, so he might be speaking on behalf of the devs who have said that the campaign was designed for co-op? Im not really sure what he’s trying to get at either.
