I played the crap out of Halo 5 back when it was relatively new. I got to rank 145 before burning out completely and moving on from the game. I remember hearing about a reward given to players in Halo Infinite who hit max rank (152) in Halo 5. With Halo Infinite’s delay, I figured this might be a good time to come back and try to hit that max rank. Do you have any tips or advice that might help me with the final slog? Thanks
If you really want to grind for it, I’ve heard that Mythic Warzone, and Warzone Firefight in general give you a lot of xp especially when paired with a boost. Play those modes almost exclusively and fairly often and you’re golden. If you don’t want to grind as much, just playing several matches a day and using boosts would get you there. Regarding the reward for getting 152, it isn’t all to great. It’s an emblem called “The Mantle” or just “Mantle” (I can’t remember which). It doesn’t really look especially cool, but it has some significance in lore.

Play daily for a minimum of 6 hours. If you can’t get any Firefight games matched, just play whatever playlist has a star next to it (means double XP) and make sure you boost every time. If you can spend some money, go purchase legendary XP boost packs in the Microsoft store (WZ and Arena). Just know that the same XP for SR 1 - SR 150 is roughly the same XP needed to go SR 150 - SR 152.
Playing mythic warzone firefight you can get roughly a thousand xp per minuet with regular boosts. That will equal out to about a million xp every 17 hours. So you might want to do the rough math of how many million you have left to the hours that it will take and see if its even worth trying at this point.
Play whatever interests you the most at the time. The number one thing that will prevent you from reaching 152 is burnout. By playing what you have the most fun with, you’ll delay the burnout. It doesn’t really matter if you aren’t playing the “optimal” playlists as long as you’re playing regularly. Also, always use XP boosts.
Another tip, and one that I used, is to swap between Arena and WZ playlists depending on what XP boosts you have. Play WZ playlists until you run out of WZ XP boosts, then swap to Arena. Play Arena playlists until you run out of Arena XP boosts. By the time you use up all of your Arena XP boosts, you should have a decent number of WZ XP boosts from opening packs. Just keep swapping back and forth like this. Not only does it mean you never play a match without an XP boost, but it keeps what you’re playing varied so you don’t burn out as quickly.
And, if you’re wondering what the best playlists are for XP/hour, WZ Assault is the best WZ playlist and Infection is the best Arena playlist. But like I said, it’s more important to play what you enjoy.

Play, play, play different playlists. It’s about Xp per minute played. So use the xp boost appropriately.
