I talk. But randoms don’t. So don’t say “callout to them” because they won’t listen or are in party chat.
I’m striving to be Onyx in slayer. My friends, no offense, are not on the same playing field as I am in H5 since they play it more casually (Warzone/BTB).
I’ve found some tactics to maximize effectiveness of randoms, but I’m open to any other tips strictly for Team Slayer:
Cover randoms who have power weapons/power ups. enemies will gravitate to them (to try to kill them) giving you more targets. plus, you can clean up anything your teammate couldn’t finish. If your teammate dies, you can pick up their weapon.
Never expect your teammate to cover you or “have your back”. Keep an eye on the radar, audio cues, and spawns (you should be aware of who is dying on each team and where). You’ll have to adapt to checking your sides and behind you because there’s no one there to help you.
Don’t expect to be the quarterback, instead you have to fill in as the roles (yes, multiple roles) your team needs. No one on your team gets the sniper? Guess what, you better start sniping. Teammates keep rushing? Be the guy in the back picking off anyone they’ve weakened to maximize damage and minimize causalities.
Sometimes you’re better off letting your teammates grab powerups/power weapons. Anything that will maximize damage for your team. Yes, you can be god-like with a shotgun, but if your teammate gets it. They’ll (hopefully) be less likely to die and more likely to get a kill. If you’re good, you’re good. Now, make your teammates good.
tbh theres no real good answer for it due to each game being different so you will have to get some buds who can slay. some people have mics and dont talk (never understood that ) and some dont know callouts are at the bottom left of the screen if they heard them you just gotta be patient and do what you can in each game if running solo. add me if you wanna run sometime gt ICY IS CLUTCH
Blastoise, would you want to add me and run some slayer together? I am looking for a someone to play with seeing as my friends aren’t on as much as I am. My GT is HALO M4STA.
yooo i’m like gold ranked and every time i play with randoms 1 guy quits and its a total nightmare. i won a match earlier with 5 kills and like 30 deaths on assault. no one helped. its honestly ruining the game. i mean the xbox one comes with a FREE mic/headset. and if it breaks they will send you a free 60 dollar nicer one. so howwwwwww do people not have mics? i don’t even care if they play bad. at least they could let me know there’s a dude with a shotgun 20m behind me or and invis guy running around with a sword. also add me to play whenever. ill be doing a lot of octogon over the next few weeks. but i really wanna get to diamond and sotp playing with these types of people. i had a guy go 4 and 24 in slayer ranked a few days ago. we lost 48 50. i cant do this anymore lolz.
You’re better off trying to get people here who are onyx to play with. But if you must play with randoms use that mic. Theyll move a little better if they have some sence to them, but you run the case of getting sheep so i cant advise trying for onyx this way.
The real trick to playing with randoms is to “force: teamwork”. You can’t directly tell them what to do, but if you stand right beside them and follow them around the map, you can force your team to, well, work as a team.
Pressing up on the d-pad is also a great way to call out/signal to your teammates to follow/come to you.
I totally feel this whole post. There’s nothing worse than this other than having a team mate who goes 1 and 17. -__- I wish more people used mics, considering i always have one on. Also I’ve noticed in WZFF mics are more common. If only MM only paired mic users.

this is especially hard for me. I have a personal goal to always be MVP. It doesn’t always happen but it motivates me more.

In Luke notables tips he says your team kills should go start to go up when doing it but if no body was doing it you could lose the lead.
(Warzone example) I think mvp can be deceiving at times cause some times my team is going to lose but I end up doing the things to turn it around but it doesn’t always reflect it in the score board.

I’m glad you touched on that warzone reference. It totally makes sense that way.
