Hey everyone,
Just finished my placement matches for Team Arena and got put into Diamond 5. Got a team together so we could try to grind and hit Onyx (have never hit Onyx before so I reallyyyy want it). I’ve dropped all the way down to Diamond 3, I just can’t find any way to really progress here even with a team from LFG. Any tips from you Onyx guys?
You just gotta keep grinding it out with team mates. Joining a spartan company helps for more reliable play. I’ve noticed Arena becoming 10x more fun with a group of consistent players. Unfortunately, I did my placement matches by myself.

Yeah. I find myself getting really discouraged each time I drop down a rank though, it’s been nothing but D3 then D4 and back down to D3. My Spartan Company is We Need Achillies, so we’ll see how that goes.

I mean, we all want to get to onyx, but the game becomes more fun when you try to not worry about ranking up or down and just focus on winning each individual match. If you play with people who know what they are doing and go for the win, that’s really all you can do. That’s why I like the fact that there are seasons. You don’t feel stuck if things don’t go well.
Always go in after you’re warmed up and playing hot… then just play fast and smart. Slow things down when needed. Communicate and be aware of spawning Powers and weapons at all times…
If you’re not opposed to FFA, try that. You need to place in the Top 4 to level up. The higher, the better. Landed in Onyx 1700 just from placement matches. But for the team playlists, a 4 stack is a must. Plus communication and teamshooting.
If you’re solo then be properly warmed up, have quick reflexes and sharp mind to outsmart your enemies.
Be prepared to carry your team, already have a mindset of you having a bad team and you’re the leader to make sure that your team will win. If its objective, do whatever to make sure your team is going for objective (meaning if you have to die at pit, or carrying flag halfway across map then dying so teammate can pick it up, then do it.)

I got to Diamond 2 last season and am back at Diamond 2 again already so hopefully my team can get a good streak going on and get up towards Onyx too mate. Good luck to you.
