Any Strategies for This Beta?

I’m a fan of the Halo Wars series, but I’m horrible at them both. This is normally how my matches go: 20 minutes in, " Okay, I’m ready to atta-" “DEFEAT”. All I’m looking for is how to get troops or vehicles quicker. I play games with 3 bases full of supply pads and power harvesters. Plus, one of the things I do is lock my base until I have all of my units. So anything helps, I love the game, music, art style, everything. I’m just horrible at the game, so any tips would help. If anyone else has questions feel free to ask.

Thank you for your time.

Sadly… I hate telling anyone this since it shouldn’t be the go to strategy in an RTS, but rushing your troops out to capture points (power, control points, etc) should be your first priority. This provides free power, and an early jump to decrease the enemies ticket count.

While they are out doing that, utilize the D pad commands to jump back to your base, and ensure your base continues to grow. Add a second base early on to create an extra stream of income.

I’m hoping the rush tactics are only useful due to the game mode being domination. There’s so many capture points that it’s an absolute necessity to rush out there. 5 control points, and I think like 4 power supply points??? that’s absurd for a 2v2, you spend all day just capturing points instead of attacking the enemy base. Not my style, I don’t mind if they keep the game mode in, but it won’t be my go to

If you ever find yourself in a 1v1 capture as many of the points possible except for one, split your army of cyclopes, vultures, marines, warthogs and snipers into two. One army waiting near the point as an ambush and another one to follow the enemy and surround them. Use your hero abilities and then they have no army.

this is only a part time one, once people start doing good they will probably get better and not fall for the obvious trap.

This is a noob question but how do you access hero abilities? I spam every button never find it, when I get back on, I’ll watch the tutorial again…

Left Trigger

I just build a ton of the marines or basic unit, that doesn’t cost any energy, just supplies, and i went 10-0 undefeated. I found out that building up an advanced army isn’t worth it in domination because by the time you get a few tanks going, the game is over. Build cheap and fast units and lots of them to capture the points.

That must seem to work because that’s normally what I see… 2 enemy teams cheating my one group of Marines with an overpopulated amount of Marines.

Thanks to you, I just won a 1v2.
