Any shroud strategy's?

As the title says

I try to have 2-3 in every late-game army. Them blocking shots is ridiculously helpful, especially if your going against a turtle with loads of siege units.

Never thought of that one thx! Will be sure to inform my teammate when we run into a turtle haha.

Especially helpful against UNSC in banished infantry compositions and locusts, as they shoot down siege turret shots. This makes it much easier to push bases. They’re also an absolute must against mass scorpion, and in numbers, too, because they can shoot down canister shells. I’m talking like 5-6 supporting to deal with that stuff. They aren’t so useful for the cloak, but the point defense is amazing. Really helpful unit overall!

They stop sniper and Cyclops fire in the mid game. And siege and scorpion shots in the late game.

I’m starting to think they might be better than engineers, with the recent nerf to engineers they get picked off fairly quick.

I think a shroud can prevent more damage than the engineer can heal.

Use them. That’s all I can say. I was using Kodiaks on an enemy base and 3 of them came along and with Engies and healed all damage while preventing new damage.

Needless to say, after the push was defeated I got dunked on after a long defense.

I always have around 3. I prefer using them to negate counter/artillery shots because in a group I think there’s a bug where only one may be cloaked at a time.

I think regardless of who you are playing against you should always have at least 3. If playing mass tanks then more like 4-5 imo.

Good advice! I main banished and usually build 3 Shrouds, 3 Engineers, 3-6 Hunters, 3 Jackals, 2-4 Reavers, 2 Locusts, and the rest Banshees or Wraiths. It is an excellet unit composition especially in 2v2 or 3v3.

You can steam roll just about anything with that. In 1’s I find a lot of success with 3 Shrouds, 4-5 Engineers, 6ish hunters 6ish Elites and then wraiths or locusts and reavers if its needed.

Wait they do more than just shroud ?!?!

Yep. Their most useful ability is the projectile defense, which shoots down sniper shots, artillery shells, cyclops rounds, and more. You don’t buy them for the shroud (though it’s nice), you buy them for the defensive support.

Shroud is usually the first T2 unit I build, especially against UNSC infantry rush. It’ll shut down their snipers or cyclopes letting your infantry get on top of them.

Use Plasma Torpedo Banshees with about 5 shrouds, all spread across the Banshee horde.
