Any reasons why there's no LAN or splitscreen?

I know this has probably been asked before but it kinda bugs me. A big part of how I used to play halo was through LAN and split screen with a bunch of friends.and I know quite a few others could say the same. So why isn’t that feature around anymore? Is the engine not capable of doing that? Did it seem unnecessary?

Laziness most likely

You might want to refer to the official split screen thread here. TLDR, they decided in order to achieve the 1080p 60fps gameplay, they would have to remove split screen

LAN??? What’s that… something to do with rotary telephones? as far as split screen it’s because the Xbox one isn’t powerful enough to run 60fps on split screen

Because it’s 2016.

LAN is probably due to the always online thing.

Splitscreen was actually intended to be included, but they designed the engine to hardlock for 60 FPS. By the time they realised the game wouldn’t be able to dual-render at 60 FPS, it was too late and would essentially require them to rebuild half the engine.

You can blame Xbox one for lack of splitscreen, as for the lack of lan i’m not sure.

Might I add that they failed at the whole 60fps thing. The game is only 60fps within about 20 feet or so, anything further is far below that.

There’s no LAN to make you pay for your XBL subscription and there’s no split screen because MS hoped that’d make people buy Xbox Ones among with Halo 5 instead of coming at their friend’s place to finish it cooperatively…

Feel free to use the split screen thread linked above.
