Hello everyone! Im huge fan of Quake series (Q3A specially) and I love all maps in quake. So I made my first forge map ever, map is from g3a and it is called Q3DM17 aka The Longest Yard. There are few things that I made suitable for halo5 . There is slayer, FFA and stronghold gamemode variants too. If you wanna play Halo and you miss quake please check it out. Its on my fileshare, just add gt: x2v . You can also invite me to play, I would love to play it. Give me a answer what did you guys think about that map and mode variants. Peace!
Awesome! I also made a remake of The Longest Yard from Q3A as well. Didn’t think others would. But it’s great to see others creating Quake maps in Halo. I find the maps are good for Breakout gametypes if you can set them up properly.
I’ll definitely be checking out your map, happy Forging!
My next project will be Camping Grounds (Q3dm6) . I think it will work nicely in any gamemode! I will check your map too.
If you want, maybe we can forge some maps ?
I’d like to Fprge some maps, I’ve been wanting to do a community build with others and try to showcase maps for others. Camping grounds would be very interesting indeed.
But good luck trying to find the map, to be honest my browser is really cluttered. But if you find it, I’d be really appreciative of feedback. Mine is not 100% accurate but I tried to keep it simple. And I also didn’t have good reference so I just threw it together from memory. Lol XD.
In my map I made few changes too. But the main layout is quite nice. There is no round edges though like in original dm17 . I made it also from my mind and memories

I was just thinking about this, trying to find layout images of quake maps to be adapted via forge for halo. I think if sprint and abilities were disabled and normal movement speed was increased it would play well, the quake maps are on the large side, especially the CTF maps.

I made that gamemode variant with no sprint, no thrusters . Speed % are 150,150,130,120,110 and I think it works great! If you can find those layout images can you put link here? I tried to find those, but cant find!

I’m remaking all the Classic Doom maps over here. But I want them to look modern and refined. I’m currently making E1M1: The Hangar but it’s a slow slow process…
And good idea with Marathon maps. Hope you don’t mind if I make a few. You know. For the hell of it’ll. XD But you’re totally right it would be interesting to see those environments in the Halo Universe. I’m an artist so I try to replicate and make things look interesting and aesthetically pleasing when making maps.
And to the OP, very nice map. I’m impressed, It plays very well with the aforementioned gamemodes. Any chance we can have the name of the Quake mode you were talking about? The one with increased speed and stuff? It would be great for a game night with my friends.
And if anyone is interested, my Longest Yard remake is called: “Long Way Down” if you want to check it out. The only gamemode available at the moment is Breakout. I haven’t gone back to the map in awhile since I’m working on DOOM remakes as well as a H2 Containment and HR Boneyards remake.
Also. OP since your thread is getting traction. Why don’t we have a game night with everyone here?

Hey, I’m all for a gamenight! And go right ahead with the remaking and all that fun stuff, I probably won’t have the time (nor the Forging skills) to make proper remakes, even if the maps were simple back in the day! But anyway, I’m gonna add you on Xbox, I already did to the OP. Sounds like you two got the right mindset when it comes to this stuff.
Game night sounds great! Im working with Camping grounds atm. I havent started to forge it yet, but I have found some layouts from internet. Im going to start today or tomorrow so if someone wants to help, you are welcome! Few of you added me on live and I did that too. Just put message when Im online and we can play or forge some .
