I feel that they need to make a better roster of Forerunner vehicles besides Phaetons to spice things up a bit.
Got any ideas? Drop em in the thread.

Promethean tank, that would be interesting.
Anything with a giant Sentinel Beam outside of the Phaeton Helios.
Do the Prometheans have a Warthog equivalent?
That could be interesting.
id prefer no promethean vehicles at all but maybe if they could use the design to get ancient forerunner tank that was designed to Halo 2 but was scrapped, it could have been in the level “forerunner tank”.
Have something similar to the brute chopper
Warthog Equivalent:
Lightweight mobile vehicle with low armour, Manoeuvres like a ghost but requires a gunner and the driver can do perform a phase dash like the phaeton. The turret fires hardlight rounds like a suppressor without tracking. Pilot can’t be shot but gunner can.
Helios variant has higher armour and shoots Light rifle style rounds
Tank:
Large, slow moving and heavily armoured. Can temporarily increase elevation (like a boost) but makes its underbelly weak point vulnerable. Main cannon fires Incineration-like rounds, while elevated, the cannon changes into rapid fire and shoots splinter turret style rounds. Can hold two passengers who use modified Splinter turrets which fire suppressor rounds.
Helios variant cannon fires a slightly weaker but longer lasting version of the Helios phaetons Cleansing Beam. Must be charged up to fire. Turrets fire Dying star rounds but at a heavily reduced fire rate.
A vehicle that makes use of splinter turrets.
I was thinking something along the lines of Reach’s Revenant, only a Promethean hovercraft instead that possesses a dual Splinter turret setup and the driver can pull the trigger for a burst of 2 splinter turret rounds at a time with a 2 second reload. It would also have a ground-based teleport maneuver similar to the Phaeton but limited to transversing along the ground a few meters at a time. Could have about 110% of the armor strength of a base warthog and can hold one passenger with his armament of choice.
yea some kinda ground vehicle. with the short distance teleport that prometheans have for everything
Forerunner gungoose, shoots splinter grenades+passenger has infinite splinter grenades.
OMG NO, I WAS JUST KIDDING!!!
I was thinking of a mobile turret defense kind of thing. So it’d be like a ghost thing (but your Spartan would be protected from all sides) that couldn’t shoot. Once you are in a key position, you would “switch seats” and the vehicle would lock to the ground. Once you are locked to the ground, you wouldn’t be able to move (obviously), but you’d also have access to a very powerful turret. Once you are losing the position, you could switch seats back to the driver and speed away. There’d also be seats that could hold 2 people. Those seats would turn into cover once the vehicle locks. Also, when it locks, it’s kinda like armor lock where anything that tries to splat it gets destroyed. I call “The Phalanx.”
A warthog with a splinter turret on the back, or a Promethean tank.

What about the gungoose shoots splinter turret ammunition

For the warthog equivalent I actually had an idea somewhat similar to this one but with a couple differences, it would hilarious to juke someone with a phase dash and then kill them by shooting the turret or running them over.
And for the tank, like… whoa. That is a very very awesome idea. I think the that tank would become a legendary high level req (just like those darned forbid phaetons) but that would be a force to be reckoned with considering all that it can do, I LOVE IT!

This one fits in pretty well, fits in very well as a Revenant equivalent (or replacement if by any chance it does happen and the Revenant never does). Splinter Turrets as weapons would be fairly balanced especially with the reload time in between. By far a well idea and I would like to see it happen.

To be honest that could be impressive if it was implemented as high level req (Maybe as 6-8) it could be what the ONI gungoose could’ve and should’ve been (Let’s be honest, the ONI gungoose blows). (Good idea btw, have a cookie.)

Now I could see this working very well (and it is a very original and thought out idea, kudos to that) but like the others I could see it being a pretty rare and high level req because if you were to make it too common then people would more than likely make some very trollish setups that nobody could counter unless they get lucky. But all around a fresh idea. (Also do you think you could explain further on the 2 seats thing? I feel like I know what you mean but what would happen to the passengers?)
[In conclusion so far: Great ideas but a bit up there in terms of usefulness but hey, ideas are ideas. Keep em comin!]
Covenant and or UNSC vehicles with Forerunner tech.
Tron Light cycles, please…
Something like a War Sphinx would be cool…

I’ll accept the cookie, but just Imagine a field full of splinter detonations… IT’S A TRAP!
I’ve said this before, but we shouldn’t be able to drive Promethean vehicles. The way that I’ve always seen the Promethean enemies has been as specialized tools, designed to accomplish very specific jobs. That was one of the reasons that the Soldier came around, it was good at fighting Humans and the Covenant. Following that logic, Promethean vehicles should just be specialized enemies, kind of like the Droid Starfighters in The Prequels. They could obviously be bigger and more powerful, but they would be enemies and not vehicles. I’ve never hated having some parts of the Sandbox off limits. Not being able to use the sword in CE made it a lot cooler when you saw Elites using them. Same with Tartarus’ Hammer in 2. It was cool BECASUE we couldn’t use it. Moving into 3, Scarabs are the same way. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Promethean equivalent to a Scarab in campaign, or a reworked version of Warzone though. That would be awesome.
