Any Pro tips to quickly take out Knights?

Specifically, on legendary.

Also if you know any manner to prevent them from warping away, that would be greeeat.

Solo: plasma pistol + precision weapon or automatic weapon clip + precision weapon

Co-op: Assassination while they are throwing grenades (can be done in solo too) or hardlight shield + assassination (every AI turns towards the closest opponent in this game) or just shoot at it together.

In either case kill all the small enemies first, especially watchers.

The only downside to the assassination animation is that their weapons die with them. If you’re low on ammo go with a beat down instead.

Thanks. But unfortunately at the moment, plasma pistols and precision weapons are far and few between.

In that case suppressors work quite well against them (they should freak out after you drop their shields, giving you a chance to reload), as long as you keep your distance.

Boltshot + sticky if you cant get a PP. Sticky then charge shot bolt>dead knight. Gauss + Magnum/DMR/BR etc works wonders for de-shielding and one shotting. Failing that, just be extremely agressive as the AI aint to smart, even on legend. If you spot them nade launching charge at them firing, its a free attack on them. Keep shooting from the hip and then clobber the bugger with the melee. Mash if necessary.

Much appreciated.

Put the catch skull on so they pretty much only throw nades and run up and assassinate them while they are tossing them.

Use the Binary Rifle from distance.

If a Knight has an Inceneration Cannon get a Scattershot and after he fires run close to him. He will be too scared to fire the cannon as it will kill him. Blast him a couple of times with Scattershot.

Good luck Solo

Battle Rifles and un-scoped Light Rifles are more effective then the DMR and a scoped Light Rifle.

BattleWagons will rush towards you with a scattershot, but there the only units to do so.

Knight Lancers use a Binary Rifle will have its face glow a redish circle before firing and will usually have a sentry turret deployed.

Knight Commanders use Incineration Cannons. On Legendary they fire really fast and the splash damage can be an insta-kill.

Promethean Knights aren’t that hard to take down individually. After you take out the crawlers and watchers, just patiently take out each one at a time.

If you don’t have a precision weapon to take them down, an assualt rifle or suppressor surpsingly does a great job at taking Knights down with ease on Legendary.

Basically, like all things legendary, take your time, where them down and take them out. A promethean knight who’s taking damage from you will take cover so most of the time, unless your dealing with battlewagons, you’ll be on the offensive.

Additionally, having an armor ability like Hologram can have you set assassinations against Promethean Knights, saving alot of ammo and trouble and time when moving throught he campaign.

Also, if you damage a Knight enough to see a yellowish skull, shoot it and they’ll immediately die. Also, Railguns work great and usually kill a Knight in one shot. Also, if you see a Knight teleport towards you, IMMEDIATELY BACK UP, and get ready to fire, they will miss there melee and will be vulnerable for a couple of seconds before they teleport back to were they were.

Good Luck playing Legendary Solo, Promethean Knights and Promethean enemies in general aren’t that bad, the Covenant gave me the most trouble in my solo Legendary playthrough. Just remember to take your time aswell, there isn’t really a need to rush through it all.

How I got through knights was by using the auto-sentry to take their shields down and then finishing them off with the scattershot. Or if there isn’t a scattershot, it was auto-sentry + assault rifle/suppressor + precision shot for last hit.

Usually I just shoot them.

Plasma pistols and assassinations, oh and needlers.

Pulse grenades and light rifle. Then pick up ammo and 2 pulse grenades from the knight.

Thats great help

The lesser knights have really quite stupid AI. If you retreat and lose LOS they’ll often just get bored and go back to their patrol routes. Obviously this is a great time to go for assassinations.

Pulse grenades are good for pinning knights in place - and I think I heard they prevent them from teleporting too.

Plasma pistols and plasma grenades are both great. So are FRGs and needlers, if you have the opportunity. If you’re restricted to Forerunner weapons, Scattershot works great.

Kill the watchers first, they’re really annoying when they use hardlight shields on knights, or resurrect them. Some people claim knights are invincible when they’re spawning a watcher, but this is bull - shoot away. Possibly they’re immune to assassination during this animation though.

A key tactic to use on Knights is automatic weapons, particularly the Suppressor.

Also, try to find out where and when they spawn for easy assassinations.

And try to get direct hits on Knights with the pulse grenade. It knocks them back and can stop teleporting IIRC.

Lancers: don’t worry about their zig zag teleport ability too much. They miss most of the time if you’re careful

Battlewagons: don’t try to sneak up on them. Most of them are alert. Keep in mind that they’re just regular Knights with more shielding, health, and an overpowered gun

Commanders: if you got an automatic, it’s possible to close the distance and stop them from doing their wtf jump ability

  • aim for the heat
  • keep your distance they are deadly at close range
  • use a power weapon if you can, rocket launcher kills in 1 shot
  • when you see a watcher summoning something kill the watcher before it summons a knight

> - aim for the heat

I don’t know, man. I’ve had a lot of luck aiming for the cold instead.

Kill Crawlers. Kill Watchers. Unload about 2/3 of a magazine into the Knight, reload. Completely unload the second magazine into the Knight - its shields should pop half way through - and finish it off with a few headshots. Easy.

I figured that out once I realised it takes about a magazine to pop their shields and for them to subsequently teleport away as I reloaded.

Use power weapons if possible, otherwise that tactic took me through Legendary solo quite easily.

Better of saving the power weapons for Commanders and Battlewagons too. Not worth using on regular Knights.
