Any other popular weapons not returning?

So we know that the Classic Magnum and Tactical Shotgun aren’t returning in Halo Infinite’s campaign, though they may be added post-launch. Are there any other weapons that won’t be returning for Halo Infinite? I am kind of curious just because many Halo Infinite Megaconstrux sets used many weapons that have increased speculation on the weapon sandbox in Infinite. However, the weapons being in the sets don’t confirm whether the weapon in the set appears in-game, as in the case with the Tactical Shotgun. What other weapons will/will not be featured in Infinite?

Will Infinite have the Covenant Carbine, DMR, Rail Gun, Saw, Brute Shot, Plasma Rifle/Repeater, Focus Rifle, etc. at launch like showcased in the sets? Will they all be post content?

I actually like the new weapons but don’t want to see a total overhaul of the sandbox. Infinite has the potential to have the most diverse sandbox of any Halo game, especially for multiplayer if more weapons are added post-launch.

What do you all think? Personally I really hope the DMR returns in some way as it is my favorite Halo weapon.

The Reach Needle Rifle in multiplayer would also be great, though I may be asking for too much lol.

What I don’t wanna see it parity on both sides. Both sides don’t need a burst rifle although it seems we’re getting it. Both sides don’t need a long range single shot, etc. diversify the arsenal and allow certain weapons to dominate their space.

I would like to see the Brute Shot return in honor of the Banished brutes.

Eh, Halo’s always kind of been that way, with weapons and vehicles, and I don’t think it really suffers for it since each side has it’s own gimmick. Like, Covenant weapons have slower projectiles and use weapon cooling instead of ammo clips, Covenant vehicles can typically be manned by one person both driving and operating weapons. But overall you have your AR/Plasma Rifle, Rocket Launcher/Fuel Rod Gun, BR/Carbine, etc. It looks like Banished or Brute weapons will have better melee damage. I don’t think it’s a bad formula seeing as for the most part both sides cover all the bases of autofire weapon, burst fire, precision, close range, explosive, you get the idea. That’s why Forerunner weapons kind of sucked in general since it was really just a weird amalgamation of what we already had, without really doing anything completely new. We didn’t NEED Forerunner weapons because for the most part the weapon sandbox already had two versions of each weapon type. As long as we have new weapons, and each faction’s version of those weapons are somewhat distinct, I really don’t see the problem with having some sort of parity.

The “Pulse Carbine” is probably a replacement for either the classic Carbine or the Plasma-Rifle/Storm/Rifle.
The “Mangler” is a replacement for the Mauler.
The “Ravager” is likely a replacement for either the Brute shot or the concussion rifle.
The “Commando” is replacing the SAW.
I might not be right on all of them but I can guarantee that all these mentioned weapons won’t be in one and the same game at launch and in Campaign.
It is very possible more will be missing.

I agree with your sentiments, but I highly doubt we are going to get a mirrored sandbox. From what i can tell… the plasma burst rifle functions in a very different range and way than a battle rifle does… in the sense that it cant headshot enemies, and it takes down sheilds faster, probably funcitons at a close-mid range. Battle rifle i assume funcitons at a mid to far range, is worse at taking down shields, and can headshot enemies.
I imagine each weapon fills a unique role in the sandbox as some people have praised halo Ce for having the most unique and clean sandbox. I imagine thats what they are going for here.

I don’t think the Saw serve the same purpose as the commando. One being high fire rate close to mid range and the other slower but longer range. The others seems pretty true althought i hope the pulse carabine doesn’t take the palce of both the classic carabine and plasma rifle.

Yeah I have a feeling there is a risk for that too
